Another 'loo' thread? Making your Thetford into a composting toilet.

I wish I could post this anonymously...

we have an empty Lucozade bottle each for some of our urine...the contents are disposed of responsibly outside or taken into a public loo...easy for men...
I keep a smallish plastic bowl with a pouring lip within the loo bowl...and pee into this, then pour contents into said Lucozade bottle, works well for ladies.. quick wipe of bowl with loo paper then a spray of disinfectant..
Used loo paper is put into an empty laundry tab box Lined with with a biodegradable caddy liner..
We never drink Lucozade!!!!
Added bonus is we use less flushing water.

Now I'll probably regret posting this...
Rather than the bowl with lip/funnel have you seen the she wee?

CINAGRO, written in large fluorescent orange lettering on the sides of the delivery trucks. Or, organic spelt backwards. We were in Old Windsor at that time on a farm, that had the human slurry treatment each year on the more accessible fields. Put me off veg, strictly carnivore now ;)
Mike.

Cattle slurry, after maceration is spread over grass fields, later eaten by cows, human waste is dumped at sea. So that rules out meat and fish.....that only leaves you nuts, insects and water.....hang on a bit......London/Essex water is supposed to have been passed through, at least 4 other people before it gets back to you, as for insects.....? I see a diet coming on.

I looked back to the video on You Tube which suggests a way to convert a Hymer Thetford cassette toilet into a composting toilet. This bucket would last 2 people 3 weeks in our house, peeing in a separate container. We are thinking of doing this when our Hymer arrives, but will be bringing well sealed bags back with us unless we find one of the rare sites where compost bins are located. This is the link, it’s in French, but easy with lots of pictures.

You could always use a she wee to fill your bottle?
Yes I have one of those..but my aim is not perfect when urgency strikes in the middle of the night, when I wait too long in the vain hope my other half will wake independently.so I don't have to clamber over him.
