Hello everyone,
1000034892.jpg

I've just replaced both DRLs as one of the LED ones failed. At the same time I went fuse hunting looking for the electric door mirror fuse for the blind spot mirrors. Buzzed all fuses in main fuse box. Couldnt find a fuse for the lower mirrors, so gave up for the day. Put everything back together.

Next morning, airbag and sear belt lights don't go out! Coincidence? I did have to move the seat several times to squeeze in the gap.

The airbag ecu was replaced about 5 months ago (when I bought it it had failed on this). I've got the receipt. The dealer is about 2 hours from me.

What checks can I make?
Will a multiecuscan differentiate between a faulty ecu and let's say the wiring between thr seat and the module?

Any help is really appreciated.

Can you see under the seat? That would be the first place I would look. There is a probably a sensor in the seat to tell if the driver is present, assuming it was the driver's seat you moved, so that could possibly explain why both lights are on. Double check all the fuses too I suggest.

I had this one installed in mine different model number no idea of the difference

Make sure the big yellow seat belt plug is together under the drivers seat.

Thanks John, I've been under the seat and broken and remade the yellow connector. Still the same.

Should the seat belt light extinguish when the seatbelt is fastened even with an airbag fault?

I can't answer that. I've had an airbag warning light but don't remember the seat belt light coming on.

The faults I've heard about are cables being cut when the seat swivels. If you were just sliding it back and forward that should have been safe but you would need to look for a cut cable somewhere near the runners if that's what happened.

Just a thought but do you have cruise control selected? if so try turning off cruise and see if you still have the airbag light on.
My current van has exactly that and it has nothing to do with the airbag controller but is the dreaded dimly lit lights fault of the instrument cluster, if it is that you can either live with it or there are a number of companies that will rectify it for you, at a cost considerably less than a replacement air bag module.

Thanks for this. Unfortunately it's not selected.

Does anyone happen to remember when they had an airbag fault whether the annoying ping ping still worked if the seat belt wasn't fastened?

We had both the seat belt light (and annoying ping) & the air bag light when our unit failed. We tried alsorts as we were in France at the time, & could loose the seatbelt light occasionally ( & with it the alarm), but it was never permanent! Drove us mad for about 2000 miles until we got home & had the airbag Ecu replaced & reset!

That's terrible! I should Cound myself lucky, although I would have disconnected the buzzer 🤣

That is because manual mirrors don't have fuses. 🤣
Only the top ones are electric.
I know, I know but the switch has 4 ways on it! And an image of 4 quadrants! Stupid Hymer!!

I agree, but with the dealer doing the work for the previous owner I want to be sure that is what it is and nothing simple.

Is there a way I can test the seatbelt and weight pad in the seat or whatever the connector for continuity etc? BTW I've got no idea what I'm talking about🤣

If only we could’ve disconnected the buzzer - it wasn’t for the want of trying! 😂😂

Fiat air bag lights will not go off on their own they need a scantool. Mine periodically comes on but I have a Topdon artidiag 800 which I bought specifically for this purpose. When the air bag light comes on I clear the codes and it’s then fine for a couple of months. Then repeat

Sounds like a plan for me to try. Thank you. My wife's eml came on yesterday too. What are the chances!

There are a couple of fuses behind that panel for the mirrors.

My heated ones on the Exsis stopped working, couldn’t find the fuse anywhere.

What a stupid place to put a fuse. 🤬
