I would love to read your itinerary. From setting off at home to arriving back home.Look away now if a UK tourer and of a nervous disposition.
We have recently come back from 3 months travelling from Poland, through Slowakia-Austria-Italy-Greece and back same way.
We never paid for a site nor parking.
Hopefully
Cant see any insolvency noticesSo they have not 'folded', i.e. financially, but retired
To be fair to River Dart Country Park they do provide a host of activities such as aerial assault courses, ground assault courses, a pirate ship lake and other stuff. Much much more than your average camp site.River Dart Country park wanted £90 this year without electric for a grass pitch.
Thats what I am trying to get at, I have said all along the greed pricing will bite people in the backside.
I don’t disagree, there is a lot there. I still think it’s a ridiculous price though. We have stopped on others with equal facilities for £35 a night. To be fair to River Dart Country Park they do provide a host of activities such as aerial assault courses, ground assault courses, a pirate ship lake and other stuff. They are also usually sold out in Summer and take a lot of day visitors as well.
Most places now charge what the market will bear or, in other words, as much as they can. There are obviously plenty of people happy to pay these prices for the facilities provided. Anyway it’s more a holiday site for kids than old couples!

We don't al accept it ...it's a free choice ....never been in a Costa, pret or similar, won't pay £££ for a takeaway pizza ,we only pay what we consider is fair value for money...like many others not because we can't afford it but because we won't be ripped offI don’t disagree, there is a lot there. What the market will bear is in my opinion a terrible way to do business. Costa Coffee and other chains are the same, they have somehow managed to make us all think £4 for a mediocre coffee is acceptable. It’s a ridiculous price and somehow we all just accept it.
I have said it before, we don’t have a cost of living crisis, we have a corporate greed crisis.
Eventually, the family owned places like Lady Bailey suffer as disposable income goes down and people simply can’t afford to use and buy them.
No Gary, the pirate ship and rope swings are but the more adventurous things cost more money. Are all the extra activities free….
Good god!Even a small farm site in Bakewell wanted £75 a night to stay.
Exactly thisGreed and rip off Britain why pay those prices when you can go to Europe and park for next to nothing
How does that work then please?Look away now if a UK tourer and of a nervous disposition.

The cost of sites is now eye watering. Glad I moved to the motorhome. :-(
