Morning all As anyone got any ideas of how to display Angles Mort stickers I don't really want to stick them on the paintwork because of possible paint damage

Hi Diabalo thanks for that did you buy angles Mort stickers already on on magnetic sheets

Spent 4 weeks in France mine stayed in the glovebox just in case I got stopped, in 4 weeks only saw a couple of vans with them on and no French vans. I don’t think they are bothered just like the breathalyser that you were supposed to carry some years ago.

Stuck on with Froggy Tape. Looks rubbish but it did the trick and we peeled it off a week later and it left no marks.

I bought some suction cups and fixed my stickers to some alloy finger plates and then fitted the suction stickers. They work well👍🤔

When we were there in April May this year most of the big motorhomes like our RV had them, as we did.

I've found car paint protection film works well.
Simply put on where the stickers are to go then the stickers onto the film. Easily removed without damage to the paintwork.

Agree - we used film last year, and while it may have been a bit unnerving peeling the film off it worked fine. But I think unless you plan to keep the film in place, it's easier to get magnetic stickers for the front, which is what we've now done. Only passed through France earlier in the year, but we did notice significantly more vans, including French, with them on.

Don’t apply them at your peril. If you are unfortunate enough to have an accident, Gendarmes are called which normally happens and you could find yourself not insured for non compliance. Too late to put them on after the event. Totally agree they are a nuisance but that is the law in France. Majority of police won’t bother to stop you on the open road but I would rather not take the chance.

I don't want to give the Gendarmes any reasons to stop me so for what they cost it's a no brainer for me.

When in France a few weeks ago we passed quite a few lorries which did not display these signs. A number of Dutch, Hungarian and even 2 x French lorries. Also saw 2 x Italian coaches full of school children going to Disneyland Paris, again no Angles Mort signs.

One Dutch rig had a stunning paint job and had a 🖕painted close to where the Angles Mort would go. Did make me laugh 😂😂

I seem to remember on another thread that the noon-magnetic ones can be fixed temporarily by smearing vaseline or something before sticking them on and removed easily.

Can anyone please confirm what one should apply before sticking them on, do they stay in place and do they come off leaving no marks?

Have had mine in the glove box for a few years now, we don’t do French cities and normally just go to Gravelines after and before the tunnel crossings then it’s straight into Belgium or Germany. Been through French checkpoints on the A16 and the police never even looked up.

How do you get magnetic signs to work on aluminium body? If Hymers have alloy then surely Carthago‘s 🤔do?

Ok, so vans @3500 kgs and under don’t need them but F‘in great vehicles do. So does that mean the French can’t see them? There’s a mahoosive big truck in front of you and you only know it’s there because it’s got a sticker on it?
