Not too much detail, I'm afraid. All I know is that there are ferries from Italy to Sicily and Sicily to Malta, which is the route we're going. I think two firms run the ferries, depending where you sail from - Grimaldi lines and Virtu ferries. As far as I know now, there is only one camp site on Malta, at the northern end of the Island in Mellieha. In 2012 we spent two amazing weeks with my ageing parents. I was quite keen to research a MH trip to there. Can you provide more details on ferries, costs, camping etc?
No ,but it should do .The government should be making the rules the same for everyone. There is no difference getting out & entering pet reception or handing stuff out the window. It is mixing ,end of.Taking your pet to pet reception didn’t count towards quarantine three weeks ago. What makes you think that you make the rules governing my life? You use your interpretation I’ll use mine. I was there, I asked, it didn’t count. You really do think you can make rules about others. Give it a rest.
I think this is what finally put us off. Apparently wild-camping is somewhat dicey (even though we did see one van camped long-term somewhere). Plus the ferry costs were eye watering when I last checked. Much easier and way cheaper to fly in.As far as I know now, there is only one camp site on Malta, at the northern end of the Island in Mellieha.
Los pinos, 12 € a night , electric hook up included.Where are you staying in Peniscola? We stayed at the Eden - very good restaurant, but we weren't keen on the site.
Los Pinos or Bonterra Park? One of our favorite sites! Is it busy and is the restaurant open?
I am always grateful that you can never see fish out of the windows during the crossing.
Gus.. you are aware that eurotunnel pet reception has a "drive through" so you don't have to get out of your car...No ,but it should do .The government should be making the rules the same for everyone. the same as there should be no exemptions for bin men ,post men, tunnel & ferry workers , those gove muppets doing the trade talks, etc; No one.
** & no I was aiming it directly at you but merely pointing out that it is ridiculous to have 2 theoretically different ways .
Brittany ferries Plymouth to Roscoff is my preferred route overnightTunnel suits us every time its just the awful jaunt front north Cornwall to the tunnel that really is tiresome.. and as for coming back...
Yes, when it is open?Gus.. you are aware that eurotunnel pet reception has a "drive through" so you don't have to get out of your car...
It's SARS, not Novichok. It's a respiratory virus, passed on almost exclusively by breathing the same air. Use disposable gloves, put the chip reader in a plastic bag, if you're that paranoid. Wash your hands for 20 seconds, you've got a washbasin and water. At Dunkirk I have always done the same. I never leave the cab. Passports ,including dogs, handed in to booth through window. Chip reader handed to me. At that point as far as I am concerned we could all now be infected. Chip reader touches dog , dog infects cab..............................that is why there should be no difference between any type of entry. Call me ocd.
Erm, so what's all this I've heard about the virus surviving on surfaces, even for up to 28 days? Wow, how have all these scientists got it so wrong when warning us about touching stuff and getting infected. You should let someone know that it's only airborne and we shouldn't worry about touching stuffIt's SARS, not Novichok. It's not Novichok, it's not Ebola, it doesn't get through your skin. The only way you get infected by touch is if you stick your unwashed fingers in your mouth or up your nose. Young kids and demented adults are in great danger from this, and also others careless about washing hands after touching potentially infected items. With a bit of care, that infection route can be totally blocked.Erm, so what's all this I've heard about the virus surviving on surfaces, even for up to 28 days? True but it also has the capability to live on surfaces for indeterminate periods .It's SARS, not Novichok. It's a respiratory virus, passed on almost exclusively by breathing the same air. Even putting it in a plastic bag if there is actually virus on the reader then it is instantly on the bag, in the bag, all over the bag & on to your gloved hand. Even with 96º alcohol available without leaving the drivers seat you still have to hope you have stopped it.
Then you have to scan the dog, the instant it touches his fur he is infected & needs a complete shower but it is already too late as it will have passed on to the floor already.
Yes you can wash in the vehicle but explain how you actually get up , access the rear turn on taps without touching anything. All this whilst still stopped at the control booth? Have you tried standing up to go to the rear without touching the steering wheel or anything even?
Like a lot of peoples lives, who care about trying to reduce the chances of being infected. Every aspect of our lives are potentially infectious now and it all boils down to how much an individual wants to try and reduce their chances of being infected.Wow. Can‘t even contemplate what your life must be like.
What you say makes sense, I'm a regular user of public toilets from necessity unfortunately, have used them in restaurants, seafront trips, places of interest, supermarkets, without any particular precautions and whenever I happen to need them ever since lockdown eased in July, not caught the virus through my backside as yet so i guess you could be right and it doesn't enter via skinIt's not Novichok, it's not Ebola, it doesn't get through your skin. The danger is the respiration route, it's not so easy to control. Masks help, social distancing helps, good ventilation helps, but anywhere indoors is a possible infection source.
I’m so glad that I don’t have to live like this. I do feel really sorry for your ocd.Sit on a toilet seat other than one of the ones in my own home or moho
As long as I've got a hole in me .... I'd never contemplate that, but if necessity requires it, and you arent able to sustain an unsupported squat, then I suppose you have no option.
I dont even touch the toilet seat, I kick it up with my foot, taught my boy that from an early age and him and his son do the same now.
I must have some form of ocd

Personally I wouldnt consider it to be ocd? Have you ever seen any of the documentaries on the tele when they take swabs off certain things? It's disgusting and you'd have less chance of picking up germs if you licked a dogs arrisI’m so glad that I don’t have to live like this. I do feel really sorry for your ocd.
We agree.
We used to travel by ferry until we got a dog.
After many years of tunnel travel now, even without a dog, we choose to use it. 35 minutes crossing and straight onto the major roads of France.
I reckon that is very similar to us. Two return journeys to our French property each year for the last 16 years, on average. We have now sold the property, due to Brexit, but will continue to take two long(ish) trips to Europe each year in the motorhome.I `ve used the Tunnel 60 times during the last 15 years.
No I don't even think about it just habit & normal.Doesn't affect my day to day existence.Wow. Can‘t even contemplate what your life must be like.
We must be related.Sit on a toilet seat other than one of the ones in my own home or moho

It isn't ocd just a sensible way of doing things. There's 250k germs on a bank note but I still used to hold them in my mouth. Stopped at the moment thoughI’m so glad that I don’t have to live like this. I do feel really sorry for your ocd.
