Morning all,
Our Alde heating is dripping what appears to be slightly warm clean water from 1/4” hose from under the rear wheel arch on our Carthago.
It’s not the coolant and doesn’t seem to stop when the tap is on. I’m guessing it’s possible a faulty pressure release valve that’s either gone faulty or limescaled up.
Has anyone had this happen and what was the fault/remedy??
Please see video.
Many thanks in advance just incase I’m late to reply😉

Thank you, but I regularly do that and it’s always drained down at home with all valves and taps left open.
Good to have a reply that might help others who don’t know about this👍

Update.
When the water pump is off and the hot tap is open with boiler valves open the drip stops.
When water is pressurised with tap off and bled drip starts again.

Looks like the pressure relief valve Terry it's a common fault on older Carthago,s 😆

We had the automatic air bleed valve fail which dumped all the alde fluid on the floor whilst in Spain 2 years ago

it looks like this

They're solution when I rang them was to obviously turn off the Alde heating, the valve is a simple push fit onto its rubber hose, soak in a warm soapy water for 15/20 mins, this will hopefully disperse any build up of whatever if its stopping the internal float from moving up/down.

Mine unfortunately didn't work and needed a new valve once returning to the UK and a full fluid replacement all done under warranty though so not too bad.

The same valve is used on Truma Combi's known source of problems, worth taking it off and soaking in hot white vinegar as it's build up of limescale that normally causes the problems.

Thanks Lenny, I was going to give that a try, thinking it’s probably limescale😉
