Dear Funsters,

Our boiler is leaking water from what I think is the pressure release valve and I wondered if anyone know of a quick fix for it.

Please see picture below if it helps. It’s the longest pipe.

If it is the same as the Truma.

Pull your frost valve, so the valve operates and then see if it’s cleared. If not remove it and work it , to see if it will reseat. Normally just a bit of limescale in the seal.

Ps. It’s not the pressure release valve, it’s an air inlet for when draining the boiler on a Truma. 👍🏻

Hi Andy,

Many thanks for your reply.

I could be wrong but I don’t think I have a frost valve…or if I have it’s never worked in the cold weather and I never seen it.

We have a frost valve and I’m sure ours is the 3020, if you have one it’s probably directly above where the pipe comes down or certainly between there and boiler.

There should be a lever tap (yellow) on the top of that drain pipe inside the locker, Paul.

Turn your water pump off.
Then open the hot side of the kitchen sink mixer tap.
Then open the yellow lever valve for about 10-15 seconds.
Close that lever.
Shut your sink tap
Turn the water pump back on.

That should re-establish the air cushion in the boiler.
It is a process you should do when using it, about every two weeks, from my memory of the Alde manual. The boiler requires to aire cushion to prevent against pressure build up.
I hope that works.
Safe and happy travels.

CutThroatJake. I'd go along with that advice too. (y)

One of the advantages of draining down after every trip, (hot & cold), is that refilling renews that air cushion, and your fresh water doesn't go stale in the tank.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Thanks for the replies guys.

I have just done as HugoBNB suggested and it’s dropped to a small drip from what it was yesterday evening.

Hoping it just needs a bit of time to sort itself out.

JockandRita I always drain down after a trip our most recent one to being France a few weeks ago.👍🏻

I’m a bit funny about water quality etc🤣

Update for anyone interested…

We set off from our pub stop and got to our site. It dropped for a bit when I switched the ALDE system on but all is fine now so thanks once again for those who replied and ultimately assisted👍🏻
