Air fryer question

Something not quite right there.

Your 1300W load will draw something like 120A not 38A.

If you run it for 20 minutes it will consume approximately 40Ah.

Perhaps that’s what you meant; it depletes your battery capacity by 38Ah.

Quite right Ian, I was referring to the actual hit on the battery by using the fryer for about 20 minutes, to cook a basket of chips for example.
BTW, I was tempted by the Aldi middle aisle last November and purchased their 1.9L Air Fryer for €19.99, rated at 900W, to save on battery, but it is quite small compared to the 1300w 3.2L unit and it's marginal if it is suitable for two people.

Can you please tell me what my 1700 watt will consume in 20 Minutes ?
Also it has two drawers does it still draw 1700 if I only use one or is it the same for two?

Even if it is say, 1700 watt it’s consumption will vary due to how hot you want it, and how quick it gets to temp. As the drawer reaches temp, the power consumption will drop.

1700 wat will want around 150 AH ...WHEN THE ELEMENT IS ON. on average about 40 to 50% of the time you are using it ,so as a rough guide 75ah.As to what yours actually is 1700w or 3400w Should be the highest figure on the label ,but as I said earlier lbbels don't always deal in facts,,,a figure of 3.4kw would seem unlikely so most likely 1700w total

A 1.7kW load will pull close to 170A (allowing for inverter inefficiency). In one hour it would consume 170Ah so for 20 minutes, you can divide this by three so 57Ah. In reality the element wont’t be on for the full 20 minutes so if you assumed it would be on only 2/3 of the time you’d be looking at around 40Ah.

The data plate should show you the max wattage. Assuming that this states 1.7kW then two drawers would consume 1.7kW and one drawer some proportion of that (posdibly half of it).

Why do some say they have a drawer type but if buying again would go for an oven one?

Curiously, we have an oven type and have contemplated getting a drawer type one. 🤣🤣

Ian

Why?
What’s the difference?
Does one cook better than other, is one heavier/bulkier/more difficult to use/clean???

We have one of these for the house - 24ltr

…and this one for the ‘van - 15ltr

Buy a plug in energy meter about £10 when I bought mine off eBay...plug it into the mains socket plug the appliance into it ..live readout of power being used.In my experience wattage on label is often wrong..my latest air fryer says 1400w both energy meter and van shunt show 1800w.. another way is to use a clip on ampmeter
Or if you're on a smart meter just watch the display!

Good.
But why, what was the error?
More like an oven and able to put different things in shelf at one time. There are times I have both airfryers on the go all 3 drawers in use, with an oven typw would have got all in, also think I might be able to get a pizza in without modification 😉

Absolutely our thoughts...only thing we got wrong was oven type at home should have been the slightly wider type as previously posted above, but they weren't available when we bought ours ...still it's quiet old now so hopefully it will die soon and I can buy a shiney new wider one ::bigsmile:

Hi.
Can I ask where you got the bigger 24 litre one please
AndyPK

Edit: found it on Amazon
