advise please, purchasing a motorhome

One tip on Renting, Germany has a big hire market, costs about ½ the price to rent in Germany also you don't get stitched up on the instance if you want to travel across boarders.
Both times we rented we did it in Germany.

Yes....it will mostly two of us but on occasions two grandchildren.
One thing to watch out for if your grandchildren use child seats is that the outer belted seat can cope with them. A few years ago there were stories of child seats not being kept properly in place in some vans. The inner seat was OK but the second child had to ride in the cab passenger seat and an adult used the outer belted seat.

If you don't mind sleeping in the over cab king size bed, our model with bunks , 4 seat belts could be ideal for you.
For sale soon too.

I am prepared to be corrected, @Ralph-n-Bev but I think OP wants something a bit smaller than 7m.
We did actually look at a Mizar GTL, lovely van, but it didn't suit us.

I've been racking my brains to think of a 4 berth, 4 belted van with a u lounge, much under 7m....

Didn't think I'd find one, but then stumbled on the The Elddis Sunquest 145, length 6.3m, or Elddis Autoquest 145, length 6.25m

Can anyone think of (find) a shorter van that fits the bill ?

These look good. Thanks for taking the trouble to look.
I will investigate.

Thank you for this link. What amazing prices for such lovely MHs.

Yes but easier to buy from Belgium so earler links probably more useful. Are you really sure that you are prepared to be arranging cusions and getting out the bedroll and making beds up every night.......because that's what a rear longe means

You are up early today.
I need to think about the options again.
I thought it was going to be easy to choose a MH.
However, that is not the case.
I am off out today to look at some "in the flesh"ha.
Hope it will help me.x

Try looking at the ones with the electric drop down beds. They have loads of living room and a fixed bed.

We have a Chausson 510, but there are lots of similar models. There is lots of living room enough to seat 8, full bathroom and over the lounge a drop down bed. It can come fully down or half way, making it possible to have the lower lounge as an occassional bed. The bed is really comfy and can be left made up when stored. It is only 5.99m in length. There is another one out this the 610 which is exactly the same but has a garage at the back and is still well under 7m.

Thank.you. I will Google them now, before I go out.

Here's another one. These are pretty rare, I only see a few for sale each year.

All very well looking but living with the layout of a van an entirely different matter..proceed with caution, do your home work. hiring not such a bad idea
