So you've managed to block out of your memory the spitting farting camels, the trail bikes, the quad bikes and the 4x4s.

One poor kid nearly got killed by a moron with a bike, we'd seen her go over a dune and soon after a bike hurtled up dead in line with where she had vanished over the top. Luckily the moron was not much of a rider and he got bogged down before the top.

But yes, when it was quiet it was something special. With the bonus of a lovely hotel ( by now with a swimming pool ) for a civilised poo and delicious coffee.

Nope..

no blocking of memory .. and hundreds of pics that show it wasn't like that .. only camels .. and they were penned up at the site .. or out with rich people .. never saw any wild ones.. except when a fat lady tried to mount one ..

as for the other infernal abominations .... never saw any, not to say they don't go there, I'm sure they do, saw some old tyre tracks... but these dunes are HUGE .. you could lose Blackpool beach and it's abomination of a tower a hundred times over ..

You were lucky. Ray went to the trouble of blocking off the end of "our" valley with his big beast and his trailer for his quadbike ( which he does like people to know he gets lost on ) because of the morons riding through camp.
