- Vantourer 540D
I own a 2021 Vantourer 540D (Fiat Ducato base). It’s a lovely bit of kit, but I seem to be forever tinkering around with it, and fixing things. The latest issue happened a couple of weeks ago… I was parked up on a very windy day, and I opened up the door at the rear of the van (drivers side). Normally a restraint strap inside the door stops the door from travelling more than 90 degrees (unless you push a button on the door, which then allows the door to swing open to 180 degrees). On this particular day, the wind caught the rear door and blew it past 90 degrees. The restrictor button also popped out. I closed the door and popped the button back in, but I think the restraint strap is buggered… I can manually push the door past 90 degrees, and it pops the button out when I do so.
I have done a bit of googling, and it looks like there is a “rear door check strap” part available (part no 1358221080). No idea if this is the issue or if it’s easy to replace?
Wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and what the advice is?
Many thanks - Ian
