and don't forget the cost of having the cesspit pumped out every so often.

I would definitely go for the macerator and a 3/4" hose so easy, quick and clean---- leave the hose rolled up at home with the macerator-------- if you wanted to dump while on the road take the macerator and a length of hose in a locker-------- that's what many RVers (and us) have done for years.
The discharge hoses I have used for years are normal American fresh water hoses, we have four of them and just connect the amount we need, they are about 20' each and have the correct fitting to join onto a Flowjet macerator, (the same as on an earlier post) ----- we have found the layflat hoses too much trouble!!!!!

I want ease of use, it won't cost thousands, it's a simple tank with a manhole cover

I have looked at this previously because I thought it was the right way to go...

The problem with this solution (which is a good one) is the connection to the outlet on the motorhome - the outlet is around 3 inches with two notches - the flower has four notches and doesn't fit and there doesn't seem to be an adaptor.

Do you have a picture of the Elysian outlet connection? Maybe one of us knows what it is? I have a Storz for example, not common and unique to Morelo, and there are various connectors for it but it took a while to get the right ones! Here is a 38mm tail that I have.

Thanks, out at the moment - will take a photo

I bought one of these from Amazon.com and I was quoted about £140 in carriage and customs, but after the delivery Amazon.com refunded me nearly £60 over calculation. I also ordered an in line dump valve so I can decant my tanks without spilling a drop, which I did on a site in June where there was a drive over, but I didn't want to move the camper and had stayed a lot longer than we intended as the pitch and site worked so well for us.

And I have a short hose like this one, but I like to use the inline shut off valve to ensure no spillage

you will have a soil pipe from your toilet to your septic tank it will have a rodding point near the house with a metal blid drop your black waste in there chances are its on your drive.

As I said earlier - no way can I get near a dumping point at the house The motorhome is 100 yards away on some hard standing

It is the fitting to the outlet that is a problem with this

Thanks for the replies

I am going to sink a tank in the ground and have it emptied once a year.

May be a silly question but is there any reason is has to be below ground? If you can pump the waste out of your MH could you not do it into an above ground one? I'm thinking of the type of tanks that they use at motorhome shows which would be easily screened.

It has to be flat to the ground - the black tank outlet projects below the motorhome - need to open a cover, drive over and pull the lever which is what I do when at a motorhome service point - easy as

Its all about ease of use and messing about with ramps won't cut ti especially if I am on my own. I already have hydraulics so can push the back end up - thanks for the thought though
Can you buy a flat one like that which I marked and bury it rather than the usual ones which are set very deeply into the ground? I hasten to add I've never had a cesspit or an RV so I may be totally missing the point!

Doesn’t have to be that deep as wont be that big. Needs to be deep enough to have hard standing over it and weight of motorhome running over it. Just think lijke a soak away in a drive way

When I did the "self build" I put a "rodding eye" in the system. And used the "macerator" to discharge the effluent.? A distance I admit not 100yards. but it emptied my R-V Black followed by the Grey in less that 10 min?, and that was with fold flat hose. I would suggest that a 1" hard hose would cope?. The upside of that was It went into the sewer and there was no "extra" cost to empty?.
