Hi all,

Sorry I really need to have a moan about Adrian Flux, and see if anyone else has had bad experiences with them.

I went online and got a quote, and they were the best price and all the extra bits. Went with them paid in full, and then the trouble started.
They phoned me the following morning, saying I had not declared a crash. I explained the accident was over five years ago, and non fault. Went into all the details, and their response was well the police updated the Trent database in 2019 so that's when the crash happened!!! They then put it down as a at fault crash, when my car was parked with no driver in it!! In his next breath he said it will be an extra £147, and a different insurer.

Ok I thought, as picking MH up the next day and want it sorted out. Paid the extra and he said I will get emails regarding anything I needed to do. Got in from work that night to a load of emails, asking me to go onto their portal and complete some document sending requests. I did them straight away licence codes, numbers, car NCD proof letter, and picture of mileage for MH. This was on 26th August, today I have had a letter telling me I haven't sent any of the details requested and must do it within 14 days. I have done it again, and told them not impressed they lost the first details sent.

Really unimpressed with the company, and their representatives seem badly trained and brain dead. Needed a good rant, and feeling bit better now!

What have others experiences been and any other insurers worth looking at next year? (possibly this year if they mess up again)

Been with my insurance company for over 10 years and happy with what I pay.

Motorhome is in secure storage and no change. I moved house but stayed in same village with almost identical postcode. Gets phone call telling me that it’s £80 as I’ve changed address, but they’ve got it down to £30.

Great said I, been with you 10 years, never an issue so cancel my policy and goodbye.

Strangely enough they said we’ll waiver it. I said good, especially as I have to print docs at home and all you’re doing is literally changing 2 lines on a computer.

They do try don’t they.

Check if they have used markerstudy if so Google them

Got a quote from just before we went away as our insurance was due to expire while we were away. They provided a decent quote and I accepted. Went to pay and after a long delay suddenly said sorry we can’t insure you. I asked why and he was very vague and after probing said that their parent company Hart Insurance Corporation had flashed up on his screen saying do not insure. I can’t find any company with this name so am completely in the dark as to why they refused us.

Must agree - avoid doing business with them. Have heard of numerous bad experiences regarding horse box insurance.

They are a waste of time and money. Had a caravan insured with them which it was in storage and able to use van as we wanted but moved it to a site as seasonal. Flux came back and said sorry can’t insure you and I paid up front for my insurance and it was only 2 months in of a 12 month period.

So they cancelled my insurance and I lost over £350 quid in the time frame.

So told them in so many words to go away and I went to another company with a cheaper price and better options.

Stay well away.

Bill

I was with Adrian Flux for years & never a problem & always a good price...... Untill i wanted a geen card to travel in Turkey, that will be £500 plus, Um hang on let me think about it, bearing in mind i was in Switzerland at the time, so tried NFU, yes that will be no problem & FREE. Guess who i went with?!!??!

I used Adrian flux many years ago (not for MH though) for quite a few years and I had a similar issue. I can't remember exactly but I was basically insured for years with them then whilst sorting my usual yearly insurance on line I must of contradicted something I'd said in earlier years ( because I'm not a robot). I'd paid in full then I get a letter a few weeks later stating my insurance was going to be cancelled and I need to ring them to discuss issue. I rang them and they were rude and basically cancelled insurance and said they wouldn't insure me again. I'd had no claims or issues within the time I'd been insured etc or ever with anyone else.....it was mysterious really. On a plus note I've just received my renewal quote for my MH this morning and it's £50 cheaper than last year at £258 so happy.

Just had a quote from them and it’s only 3 times as much as my NFU renewal quote, had to laugh as when I told them that he asked if I would like to go ahead with the policy 😂😂😂

This can be a big problem, you are required to inform any new insurance company that you have had a policy cancelled, if you do not it's considered insurance fraud. If it was me I would take it to the insurance ombudsman.

thank you for all your replies, I will have much more time to hunt around properly next year. This year was a bit of a rush organising it, and had first motorhome brain excitement running hahah.

would this still be the case as the details didn't seem to be sent across properly, I have checked the crash is on the comparison site

Insurance companies in my view are getting away with increasing premiums when there is no driver fault. I have placed this on this forum before. Early hours of boxing morning 2019 I had a burglary keys were taken and I lost two vehicles. The insurance companies paid out however despite these being no fault if an insurance company cannot recover the full amount back it is deemed as a at fault claim and marked against your record.

The company that insured the MoHo increased the premium from £450 to over £3,000. I went to Adrian flux as they had the best deal at around £1200 for the first year, this year it is now down to £850. ! So the industry is still trying to claw back thier loss from me.

It doesn’t matter who you go to your file is marked and you have to declare that incident. Just to add if you have a partner on that insurance as a names driver the insurance companies will still penalise them as well.

Just remember AF is a broker the premium is set by the underwriter not the broker.

Surprised they didn't keep quiet, take your money and then refuse any claim you might make.

Because AF are a broker not the underwriter

I have cover through Trinity Lane via Adrian Flux. A claims in progress since i backed into very large rock, stupid me for declining my wife's offer to watch out. Anyway, i had not heard of any progress and nor had the repairers despite an inspector looking at the vehicle 3 weeks ago. Phone AF, told got the wrong number, speak to Claims Dept, number given so did who's said speak to Trinity Lane which after a bit of digging spoke to a youngish sounding lady who took my details who told me they had sent by post the Autorisation to carry out the work on 29th September, so I said but the repairers have not heard from you. the lady said well I can email you and the repairers the copy of the letter from Hoopers who are the inspectors with a bill for £4041, my excess is £500. The lady said they deal with them all the time so why it has not arrived I cannot tell. Replacing several panels at the rear and side. So i forwarded the letter to the repairers who confirmed they received it from me. So now have to wait for the parts to be delivered from Germany. Euramobil say they keep these parts in stock so hope all goes well soon.

Apparently, according to statistics (theirs?) once you've been involved in an accident, you're more likely to have another. Really?

Adrian Flux as the Broker is tasked by you to get you the best deal which you then have to take a judgement on whether it does what you require. I have stuck with AF for the four years we have been with them and not had a reason to complain. Like all that have an on-line presence there is the lengthy business of getting to speak to a human but that is par for the course these days (You try our medical practice at 8am when they open "You are number 75 in the queue"(!)).With my current claim, OK I first called on their line for General enquiries so directed to their claim line where i got through pretty quickly maybe 10 minutes. My premium went from £450 to £750 due to my claim being made a month before my renewal. But i take the view that if the service is good(ish) then why change. The grass may look greener elsewhere but will I get the same service. Your choice.

Did they give you a claim number when you reported the incident? That then always has to be the top of the email subject when contacting them. For all we know they may be dealing with hundreds of incidents so they need a way of knowing. First thing my repairers asked for was the Claim number and who from, not they are impressed by Adrian Flux. anyway see my earlier post (#22) about my experience.

Yup someone does this sort of stuff for a job sad but true :)

Broken Link Removed deals with the question of how the probability of having a traffic accident changes when one previous accident has already occurred. This is a follow-up study upon the earlier hypothesis of “accident proneness” launched by Greenwood and Yule in the 1920s. It is based on data gathered during 8 years in the public bus company of a large Spanish city and examines the implications in the magnitude of intervals between accidents. Data analysis shows evidences of several clear-cut and stable trends towards clusters of two, three and more accidents structured around short intervals. This feature, considered a tendency, seems to be stable throughout the time and independent of densities among accidents.

The focus of analysis has been (1) the comparison of the observed distribution versus the distribution by chance of intervals between consecutive accidents; (2) the estimate and comparison of both theoretical and empirical probabilities of having two consecutive accidents, considering the interval by days elapsed; (3) the estimate of empirical and theoretical cumulated probabilities of having two consecutive accidents separated by a maximum number of days, showing up the differences of these probabilities.

Results obtained are highly significant and the three hypotheses are confirmed. There seem to be two different driving styles, related to the accumulation versus the non-accumulation of accidents in short intervals.

The main contribution of this paper is the concept of “grouped accident proneness” evidenced through the analysis of data. The influence of some psychological dimensions is suggested.

So why is there no reduction for being teflon tony & avoiding any type of accidents for 50 years? they should be paying me.
