Adria Supersonic 890
Exp
2018
Hello. We will soon be taking delivery of a new Adria Supersonic 890, we can't wait!!. We are trading our Swift Kontiki 650. It would be good to learn people's experience of the Adria and anything to look out for? Thanks

Hi Adrian
We’re on our 2nd Adria albeit both Coachbuilt Matrix on a Ducato. Generally well built, the only real issues have been quite a few leaks on the plumbing, all down to the Reich fittings. I’ve replaced c50% of them to date with John Guest fittings.
Our 1st was the SL model with single beds over the garage, the current one is the DC with large island bed which can be raised electronically so you don’t loose any garage space. Having said that we can still get both electric bikes in without having to raise the bed. We have EP self levelling on the current one, wouldn’t be with out it now.

A bit older than yours but our 63 plate Sonic 700SL was great, build quality solid, 3.0L with comfortmatic was sublime, only thing we had go wrong was the glass lid over the huge sink, wasn’t looking to swap it at all but came across the Carthago unexpectedly and Simon Select did me a deal I couldn’t refuse, or I still would have had it👍

Hi , we have the sonic 810, traded in a Kon tiki sport and find it far superior, initially had to change 3 push fits because of leaks but all seems ok now , the air suspension gives a lot smoother ride except for the worst of the pot holes but guess no suspension can compensate for them .
we find the front seats are quite firm compared to the kon tiki which I think were more comfortable over a long journey . Over 4k miles done this summer it has averaged 22mpg with about half of that having a toad in tow.

You might find that on some of the water fittings that they neglected to fit the clips to stop the fittings coming apart, my experience is that it's that issue that leads to the leaks people have experienced. Easy to retrofit yourself and they cost pennies. JG clips fit as do probably other makes.

Other than that, we have found our Adria (different model) to be of a very high standard of fixtures and fittings, very robust !

I swapped the Reich fitting for jg and ordered a spare to keep in the van , as said easy to fit on the road as long as you can get to it of course

Same here.
Adria coral 670slt. Excellent apart from water fittings if you have these ask for them to be changed

Just spent last 3 weeks going around every plumbing shop ect trying to get 12mm push fit. They don’t do them in Spain. Even Moho dealers don’t have them.
Eventually got put onto a van build place in a Coruña
I’ve decided I’m going to change the rest when I get back. It’s a real pain when they leak as firstly you may not realise especially with double floor. Second is the damage it may cause.
Apart from that van is fantastic

Hi Fragle
You would like to think with all the publicity on this forum and I believe other social media outlets, around the failure of the Riech fittings Adria Mobil would be aware and investigate the quality control dept. Also with having an off the shelf solution (JG fittings) it wouldn’t be a massive job for Adria Mobil to change suppliers, to protect their Brand.

It’s a shame, that such a minor issue which can easily be resolved, soon leads to negative comments on what is in fact is an otherwise fantastic product.

I don't really understand why so many of these fittings leak as they must be used by other manufactures but only seem to leak on Adrias.
I read somewhere (perhaps on here) that the problem was resolved from 2021 on.
Our Adria was manufactured June 21, and so far we haven't had any leaks.
But, our fittings look identical to the ones that have leaked, so I have purchased a selection of John Guest fittings "just in case".

Wise move. We never had any issues with our first Adria MY 2016, but on the current one MY2019 I must have changed 10 fittings. Luckily for us we have spotted each leak very quickly. The tip to look out for is the frequent and random running of the water pump, suggesting a drop in pressure which then triggers the pump. As a precaution we never leave the pump switched on when we’re not in the van or overnight.

Like I say such a shame something so simple can give the brand a bad press. The most recent leak was inside the toilet cassette locker. On this occasion I didn’t have the correct JG fitting to replace the Reich fitting. It’s the one with a push fit one end and a plain tail the other with connects to the blue hose leading to the cistern. This particular fitting did have the plastic clip fitted to the pipe just below the actual Riech fitting.

I do agree. It’s not like they don’t know of the problem. To be honest I thought the dealers would just change them when first pointed out.
The vans themselves are great and really look great. I’ve been thinking of changing vans but I took this last night and when I see what we have I don’t see anything that looks great and has the quality. Apart from the water fittings. But they are accessible so I’ll do them myself this winter and carry a spare

From what I can see the leaks seem to mostly occur with Adrias manufactured during 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Has anyone had leaks in a 2021,2022 or 2023 motorhome?

Yes, 2022 Compact whilst in Greece, stem elbow next to the valve dump. Luckily I’d read about the problems on here and had a selection of spare fittings on board 😊

We have a 2019 Sonic 700SL plus and we love it, it’s taken us four motorhomes to get here. The build Quality is excellent. The only issue we had was the shower drain broke, apparently a factory issue where they over tighten them and the plastic cracks ands then leaks, but had it fixed under warrant.

the only think I would swap it for now is the supersonic, so just slightly envious

enjoy your new Moho

Hi all, picked my 1st motorhome up in Jan 23. Matrix 600SL Axess, after securing it in Nov 22, it was a demo manufactured April 2022 according to the coc. So had approx 6 months on dealer site, was told been checked over thoroughly, couple locker catches, led reading lights replaced pre-collection. Now just clocked 3,000 miles with no leaks at all 🙏
Just had it back in dealer's (White Arches) in Wellingborough, for a snag list !
1/ Sealant replaced around front steps (Cracking)
2/ Front skylight uneven seating (Wind noise @ 70mph+)
3/ Kitchen blind sticking on one side on closing.
4/ Hab door locking after remote unlocking after 30 seconds.
Unless you open a cab door straight away, then it's fine.
These to me are superficial repairs, we are so pleased with the overall experience of Adria, and get lot's of lovely comments.

Can you all confirm: No 4/ Hab door lock's after 30 seconds,
as dealer's workshop have confirmed this is a normal feature. I said how is this a feature as it can cause you being locked out if you're not careful. 🙈

Don’t know about number 4 but I’d be more worried about wind noise at 70MPH +:Eeek:

What’s the rush?

Ha ! Ha ! Always a rush get on our Hols Fragle 😎 Only 70+ on a motorway, as van designed to do 80mph max and we only 3,500kg so we licenced to do speed limits, unlike some heavier class, and I pay more road tax than them, so why not keep up with the traffic 🤷‍♂️

Monty maybe they don't wipe after in Slovenia, like the chinese they have wash, blow and go lol 🤣 Probably don't like paper in the cassettes either, as can get around the float and show as full 🙈

I think you are right. Mine is a 2019 Matrix registered 2020. I've had 6 leaks on pipe fittings. All bar one on hot pipes with no inserts fitted. All had retaining clips so that isn't the problem. I've replaced most now with JG and inserts. The latest fitting are still Reich but are ever so slight different if you look close. My dealer said he has a bucket full of replaced fittings but hasn't had any problems on models since about 2022 onwards. I have a theory why they leak but it's only a theory. There is some reason but as there's never any acknowledgement from Adria about a major failing I guess we'll never know. I'm on a Spanish Adria FB group and they have the same problems there.

Well I hope they have better luck than me trying to find 12mm push fit. In Spain.
I thought I was showing them something from an alien spacecraft the looks I got.

I have to say I am very happy with my 2021 Compact from Geoff Cox, they were great to deal with (collected during covid) The van has been very good, the only thing I have seen I would swap it for is double the price so very happy to stay with it for the foreseeable. They say its quite usual to have 2 or 3 vans before you find your best fit but I consider myself very lucky with my choice, its great & so far no leaky pipe fittings.
