Just wondering what additional security measures people use on their MH to try and deter any potential thieves? I'm picking up my first MH next week and I know I'll be a bag of nerves when it's parked on my drive. No doubt every little noise I hear outside I'll be up like a shot wondering what it is! The MH has an immobiliser fitted and I've already bought a tracker device. I've been looking at wheel clamps although I probably couldn't afford a very expensive one at the moment considering all my money has gone on purchasing the actual vehicle. Any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks

I use one off these when the van is parked at home.

They are the daddy if wheel clamps, DVLA use them.
They are too cumbersome to carry with the van hence only used at home, to prevent it being nicked off the drive (along with alarms/immobiliser CCTV etc).

But bang for buck and peace of mind, you can’t beat it. You’ll need to buy a padlock.

Low tech/visible deterrents- steering lock, cab door straps, window locks.
High tech - Vanbitz Raptor.

A steering wheel lock. A number of insurance companies insist on them:
This is what I have:

It is a visual deterrent.
I had one of those but the little buggers came armed with a cordless angle grinder, no deterrent at all!!!!

I have Amplo Levellers fitted to my van so cannot be moved until they are raised.

Immobiliser, steering wheel lock, hab door frame lock and coded self levellers (very visible)!

At home we live at the end of a dead end lane. Entry is via 7ft electric gates and our house is at the end of a long, curved drive with 9ft high bushes, so cannot be seen from the public space.

The Motorhome is backed up to a fence beside the house with a car parked in front of it.

We are so lucky to live on such a property (which used to be a farm with three buildings on it). Our house is a converted barn, my brother in law lives in the Farmhouse with his wife and younger son and his elder son lives in a converted pig sty with his family, all surrounding a central courtyard. Consequently, there is generally always somebody present (and awake depending on work life or lifestyle) somewhere on the property.

If you can afford to spend a couple of grand on your garage to higher the roof (I had to lengthen it too) it's the best theft deterrent ever, only the neighbours know it's there 😁

Diskloc, pedal lock, cab door dead locks, milenco external locks on Hab and garage doors, Lock M Out window locks, Phantom Sentinel Alarm/tracker and Autowatch Ghost. All fitted before I took delivery. Dealer said it was the most secure Motorhome he had ever sold.
