Add a 2nd Garage Door

Cannot find any information online about adding a garage door.

Found a promising vehicle to buy, has a large rear garage, but a door on only one side.

Are there any companies out there who are known to offer this as a service.

NB: I imagine that a campervan converting company, used to installing pop-up beds, could do it - but a company who does it regularly would probably be cheaper.

Have you tried Coachbuilt GB. They make moho’s accessible for wheelchairs and often make the hab door wider to suit the wheelchair and its user.

Will check them out.

My preferred route is to use the cut out panel to make the door - it is not yet certain that can be done.

The option of a good quality door that is not an exact match, is one I am happy with.

You could always get it sprayed to match & sensible to get sprayed before fitting the frame to it.

When we had ours done they used the cut out part to fashion the new door

Perfect - exactly what I’m looking for.
Presumably they had all the seals and trims to create the doorway itself in the side of the vehicle?
I have emailed them and will phone tomorrow if I don’t hear back.

I had a wider hab door fitted for wheelchair access by theses guys back in 2015 before xxl doors became an option , have a look at their website under the TEGOS heading on https://vierhaus-group.de/en/
Cost back then was about €1500.

They make the doors for some of the leading MH manufactures and can do hatches, garage doors etc

I managed to contact Vierhaus and they no longer offer this service

Oh, that´s a bugger, sorry for the false info, it was 2015/6 when we had it done and haven´t spoken to them since, I assumed the service hadn´t changed

We fitted an extra door / access panel in the side of our van. Just bought the kit from Thetford ( frame, locks & fixings etc) cut out the panel ( which you use in the frame supplied as the door, so it’s same colour etc) just check there are no cables & make sure you seal it properly

My Hymer 2020 model has these plastic door hinges which, as with other users, broke. I have been waiting for over 3 months now (!) for replacement parts from Hymer. Their website claims to deliver all replacement parts within 48 hours throughout Europe. This, despite fact that these are the same parts as used on current models. Useless and tone deaf towards owners.
