I think it was January this year I had the Nox sensor replaced and since then I have travelled around 10000 miles fault free without topping up the Adblue. Question is we are going up to the Scottish West coast (not NC500) and do I tempt fate and top it up before we travel or leave well alone and hope I don’t need any. I don’t fancy carrying the around with me.

It is a little odd that I used to get around 3000 miles before having to top up, it’s as though the new Nox sensor has in some way reduced Adblue use.

With 10000 miles done I would top up. We let it get very low, light on but thought we could easily get home. Topped up and had real problems getting it to start and get rid of the warning light.

Is there any problem just topping up as you go? I am 3/4 full but as Gus says I prefer to have everything to the top like wise engine oil.

Talking of the NOX sensor, my wifes van (2016 VW caddy) is on her SECOND Nox sensor which is now needing replacing, she spoke to VW about this as we've never had a vehicles needing NOX sensors replacing every 2 -3 years. They quote £860 to do this, but I can buy one on ebay for about £100 with 1 -2 hours fitting time.
Has anyone else had problems with NOX sensors ?

Are you able to check your adblue range on your dash ?
10,000 miles sounds a lot. Has it been mapped out ?
I don`t get 10,000 out of any of my vans

I had the ECU remapped to increase BHP so that may have something to do with it, but there wasn’t a discussion around affecting the Adblue system at the time.

A local garage should be able to do it for much less, mine cost £230 for the sensor and £50 fitting. Do not use a VW dealership to do this job, it’s only a heating up of the pipe work and then switching the sensor, then a reset or whatever they call it.
