AdBlue can I make my own

I have seen this item in Home and Bargains previously. I was reluctant to buy it just because it looked a bit too cheap in comparison with the adblue that I get from Aldi.
It has the correct ISO number on the label.

Me I'd just remove the cat , cut it open & knock the guts out then reweld the top back on. Job done . Don't need to worry about the ecu delete if there is nothing to block.Walked in my local garage blokes a few weeks back to find him removing the guts of a mercedes cat. never seen one before that has a bolt on cover? makes it far easier to remove the contents

Why do you think it looked too cheap, the packaging is the same and the colour of the liquid is the same?
We also saw Easter eggs at 79p in Home Bargains, the same ones in aldi were £1.25p. Almost took my aldi ones back for a refund.
If you like to buy it at a higher price, try Amazon
Amazon product ASIN B0BRNGZSKFBut it is delivered to your door.

I just wasn't sure that the spec would be correct for the price it was being sold.

Thanks for that .....if the iso number is correct then it should do the job....I ll get some 👍

I ll look into having the guts removed from my cat, and get the ECU altered.
Will it still pass an MOT if the cat is removed from the ECU?

I suspect it would instantly void any warranty claim on the engine or engine electronics

Bought some myself today from homebargains. Will probably get some more next time but will check on the use by date as I have 5000 miles till I need to refill.

If I could make it cheaper myself I'd give it a go, being tight. However my motorhome is too old to need It.

I didn't find a"use by date " on my adblue from Home Bargains.

I noticed 5l for £6.99 in a store in Peterborough. At that price I would not entertain making my own.

Geoff

Thats pretty good. I remember the first 10L i bought from Screwfix in 2021 was £9.99 for 10Litres. Those were the days
I read this as saving £0.7 per litre???

Otherwise known as 70p.

Not on our Iveco 10ltrs every 1,000 miles, it’s been back to Iveco and they say it’s within parameters 🤬

I was surprised by how much Adblue I was getting through, however on the Ducato it does start warning you when the tank is only half empty. You can do getting towards 1000 miles after the warning!
