Ad blue lifespan

Was advised three things when asked our friendly mechaninc about adblu engines prior to first purchase.
No.1 was always completely refill when low warning light appears - to not leave leave any more airspace in the tank than absolutely necessary.
No.2 Refill from pump not cannister whenever possible, never from any part-used cannister or one obviously sitting in sunlight or very warm location.
No.3 Never use any form of additive, the failures he'd seen where there was admission one was used far outweighed the ones without.
Having been briefly involved with the motor trade I am acutely aware manufacturers will deny warranty claims for the slightest 'infraction' of their rules. If a particular part or system is featuring in numerous warranty claims, by volume or costs, they will seek to reduce these. If requesting replaced parts be returned, as they sometimes do, and an unauthorised substance is then found they have now found a reason for denying claims and then may do so whether evidence of use is there or not.
On our third van with adblu and have followed his advice with no problems to date.
