acsi always include 3kw of electric and one shower token per person per day we stayed for eleven days on a yellah site in france which had all the facilities including entertainment flume pool and childrens activities for the bottom acsi rate which was amazing value probably the equivalent of staying at haven without the chavsThe book is also discounted through the C&MC
We found that some of the sites in France were up to about 1 Euro cheaper without EHU but you saved about 3 Euros if you wanted hook up.
But don't you have to be a member? The book is also discounted through the C&MC

Buying the book/card makes you a member! But don't you have to be a member?
Of the C and MC. I understand about the acsi as I've renewed for the last few yearsBuying the book/card makes you a member!
Simples!
Yes, I pondered as to whether I needed to make it clear that was for C&MC members - probably should have done. But don't you have to be a member?
Just to clarify buying books gives you a discount card. ACSI membership card is something different and acts like a passport for identification and provides insurance cover on sites. The membership card is just under €5. All on their web site for a better explanation.Buying the book/card makes you a member!

Yes thanks.. That's what I was referring to but @maison thought he could get a cheap laugh.Yes, I pondered as to whether I needed to make it clear that was for C&MC members - probably should have done.
You can get it cheaper again if you buy it direct. We do not use it exclusively but do find it useful when touring over the winter, you need all the options you can get in Spain and Portugal these days since the French have been advised not to travel to Morroco it has put a pressure on the airesOh dear Busby - looks like you've been fleeced...
£13.99 including UK postage from the Camping and Caravanning Club shop:

Yes, I'm aware you can get it cheaper if you set up a direct debit or standing order for annual renewal and for the guides to be purchased every year. You can get it cheaper again if you buy it direct. If you are a member then try to cancel your subscription to ACSI as it's €13.95 plus €2 P&P I think this year. I've lost the email but I tried and I'm not sure if I have been successful. I thought I had but I've just received an email from ACSI saying that my new book will be arriving by the end of December but my credit card expires at the end of November so can I renew it! I don't want to be dishonest and I haven't ordered one from C&MC yet so I might wait and see what turns up or not.Yes, I'm aware you can get it cheaper if you set up a direct debit or standing order for annual renewal and for the guides to be purchased every year.
Can you get membership and the guides for a single year for less than £13.99, including UK postage, by going direct?
No attempt to get a “cheap laugh”.Yes thanks.. That's what I was referring to but @maison thought he could get a cheap laugh.
The reason I put that is because the ACSI book/card/app may be cheaper from the C&MC, when you've factored in the cost of joining or renewing with C&MC, then it's not.
As I decided not to renew my membership with C&MC, I'm far better off anyway.
had to pay almost 6 euros a night extra for tourist tax.
It appeared so by saying simples. However, perhaps you'd missed my previous contribution on the same thread where I agreed what good value it was and therefore very well versed in the ACSI system and I saw your remark (obviously incorrectly) as a little attempt. Obviously I was saying about the membership of the C&MC which, AFAIK, you'd have to join in order to obtain the ACSI book from them. Plus, AFAIK, you don't become a member of ACSI, just a contributor in the system. No attempt to get a “cheap laugh”.
It may have been a misunderstanding. I assumed the “membership” referred to was ACSI membership, not membership of the C&MC.
Purchase of the book and app does indeed give you membership of ACSI as I said.
Where was the “cheap laugh”? It was a genuine attempt to answer what I thought was the question being asked.
I think it may be time to give the Forum a miss for a while!
Yes, that's why I was slightly reluctant to sign up to the recurring payment - because it might be tricky to cancel with a Dutch-based organisation. Also, I think I recall reading that there have occasionally been delivery delays for folk receiving the guidebooks directly from ACSI.If you are a member then try to cancel your subscription to ACSI as it's €13.95 plus €2 P&P I think this year. It shows how any post, however innocently made, can be misconstrued, especially if other posts are made between a question being posed and answering it.It appeared so by saying simples.
