Tonight we ate out at the Italian Restaurant on site but it also attracts lots from outside. It’s called Da Bruno and it’s Capabopino site is only one of three. It’s definitely high end!

M had Avocado & Prawn cocktail to start followed by homemade pear ravioli in a Gorgonzola and walnut sauce. I had lobster soup followed by seafood risotto and a bottle of house red which was Bela 3Stars. M was stuffed and could not manage a sweet but I had meringues with ice cream and chocolate sauce.

We are having a month in Spain looking for some sun and warmth with both of us fed up with all the rain at home!

Normally I run with the gas on for the fridge but decided on 12 volts to get to Plymouth and chill the fridge. Rough crossing to start with and I was looking out of a stern window from the restaurant looking alternately at sea one minute then sky the next as we ploughed through the swell on the Pont Aven.

Seas calmed down in the early morning so calm then to Santander. Arrived 2:30pm Brit time so 3:30pm in Spain. Back in the van to find no Hab Electrics! The 12 volt fridge was left on but I thought it was supposed to be off anyway when no engine/ignition on - well it seems I was wrong - 90% of 300 Amp hours of lithium gone in 22 hours. No water, lights, boiler/heater, radio, reversing camera, fridge, freezer, toilet flush etc! Panic!
We set off for Pamplona to let the B2B do its thing but come 11pm on the Aire in Pamplona still no CBE control unit - dead as a Dodo! Is this a repeat of my last CBE control panel problem! Went to bed but not much sleep worrying about it!
Next morning I find I can get EHU on the aire so plug in and 50 Amps start pouring into the batteries. I get the fridge off 12 volts and onto gas which obviously held us back last evening and night. We go off for a walk around town and when we get back everything has come alive again! Phew!
Driven to Zaragoza today and the sun and blue sky are out at last after as much rain over here as in the UK.
Only one niggle left which was that the N240 between Bilbao and Vitoria has been reclassified as a motorway but with no toll booths, you need a Go- Box and I haven’t got one! No doubt there will be a bill on the mat when we get home!

What a start to a holiday!

On our recent trip I saw the signs and wondered what they meant. But I also noticed my Fulli telepass sensor was beeping as I went under the gantries so I assumed aok.

As far as I know the Spanish have agreed with Brussels that there will be no new motorways tolls in 2024 but when I was there last year I did notice some strange signs on that road. Regards nick

The Campsite filled right up over the weekend but now they have all gone again. We had a Spanish Family next to us in their new to them Laika and they were unpacking and trying out all their new gear and reorganising the garage. I had to get out my funnel with long old gas pipe attached for him to fill his windscreen washer bottle and they were fascinated by my mini Cadac gas cooker.

We moved on today and left at 8:45am arriving at Ronda, up in the mountains, at 10:15am. Just as we arrived at the aire the Frenchman on the biggest pitch was leaving so very lucky - nothing else big enough! M put my Apple Watch on and we have done over 15k steps today! The bridge over the gorge is impressive and we walked down so we could look up in awe!

Does anyone know if you park a motorhome anywhere near Setenil da Las Bodegas to see the cave houses? My assistant seems to be having trouble!

I have solved where to park motorhomes in Setenil! I’ll explain later! Been there today and done it!

The road on the East side of Koki Stadium and other roads from the North of it are designated parking areas for coaches and large vehicles. You must approach the parking from the north or risk ending up in the village with its tiny streets. Just north of Komi Supermarket is a turn off that main road with a big P signposted off it.

Hope that is clear and helps. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the caves and Google Maps will direct you on foot.

The caves & village are west of the football stadium.

At the end is a very posh house and then a street you don’t want to end up in, in your Motorhome!

We left Ronda this morning just before 9am and drove to Setenil de las Bodegas and from there to Toledo via Cordoba, approx 500kms and arrived here at 8pm which will give us a full day here tomorrow and another night stop then move again on Friday morning. A long drive but we have visited both Ronda & Setenil which were not on the original itinerary and now back on schedule.

In the vast parking area west of Toledo where there are fairgrounds in the summer evidently - it’s a P4N spot, no services but the only place we are allowed by the police in Toledo unless you want a fine!

Walk then bus into city centre tomorrow!

We weren't stopping overnight so just parked in one of the car parks in the town, I think it was by the station.
We thought Toledo was a bit overrated remember having a nice meal, did the museum as Sunday so free.

Just done the little tourist train bus which does a complete tour both through the historic centre but also does a complete circuit outside the city walls and river giving fab views! €9 each - catch outside the Alcazar just up from the main square. Pics to put tonight!

Toledo is famous for its almonds and the nun’s evidently invented marzipan in a year of glut.

Also famous for stainless steel and knife making. We were given knives as prizes in their city orienteering race!

The Elites got swords. The Scandi's won them . Great for taking back on the plane

This is a Cigalla, one of many large country houses outside Toledo, many now converted to hotels they were so large having been built by wealthy merchants etc.
Possibly named after the night time noisy insect - Cigada

Lenny HB said he was underwhelmed with Toledo which I can understand as when you get to the centre you can barely see anything, surrounded by tall buildings. The little tourist train was really excellent and stopped for us to get some decent photos.
