"A Year in Spain" My "last gasp" attempt at posting (informative info).

Those solar panels look like they have just been thrown in the area. 😂
Sure...it's a new installation on very undulating land...no attempt was made to flatten out the land...the panels follow the contours...to see them in the flesh looks more appealing
The are loads of farms with regimented rows...good to see Spain is finally waking up and harvest what we have loads of..
Won't go down the political route regarding exectrical companies here in Spain, ill leave that to Gus.😀

I expect installing like that they get sun at different times and cheaper when installing than flattening the land. I like the way they look. First time I have seen any other than regimented rows. 👍

Typical us :ROFLMAO:
Well, I hate that TBH:rolleyes:
Just 15 minutes late...but we expected and adjusted...great to have them here...we've known them for over 20 years, seen their kids grow up, one now in Uni the other in Military...
Very much part of our family, well trusted and have helped us we needs be..

Our Spanish friends couldn't get through our Spanish security 🤣 so eventually they had to leave their car outside the gates and walk to the apartment. Even with Martin mediating, their car reg just couldn't be recognised!

We fed them a Brit type meal, just because they always ask for something British. We had some Devils on Horseback as an appetiser, then we had prawn cocktails, followed by roast pork, roast potatoes, and a trio of carrots, peas and sweetcorn, topped off with an onion gravy.

They watched me filling my plate to see what to do 🤣 they had seconds, so it must have been OK.

Dessert was pineapple and cherry crumble with cream. Not the best one we've made (in our opinion) but they didn't know the difference, and had seconds of that as well.

Tomorrow we're getting the van back on the road and heading out for another trip.

We're away in the van. We were heading for a small village (Lucainena de Las Torres) at the end/start of a via Verde, but decided to stop at Sorbas as we were passing. The old gravel parking area we used two years ago has now been surfaced.

Today's temperatures have been silly. About 24°. We're still sitting in the van without a fleece.

Tomorrow we're planning to ride from here and then move on to Lucainena. Its a pretty village that has some interesting old calcium ovens.

Super quiet night, no disturbance whatsoever, will prepare bikes for a 1100hrs departure. Recharging might be challenging as we expect a fair cloud cover this afternoon, however jumartoo has a spare battery and my bikes battery supports two moderate rides...we will see......
Nice to be in an area that's not overwhelmed with German motorhomes....

Today's easy ride, on the easy part anyway, took us past the parking at Lucainena. We detoured to check it out. Four of the parking spaces are now given over for electric car charging, but were filled by non electric cars 🙄. Two stored motorhomes were taking up some more spaces, but there was room for us. That's where we are now. Tomorrow we are riding an easy ride from here, hopefully easier than today's "easy" ride. It was easy until it wasn't 😂. Not for me, anyway. Too much loose stoney downhill, with water channels. I got off and walked.

Anyway, we didn't have any mishaps and got back to the van safely.

We're now on a spot at Lucainena and tomorrow's ride looks easy 🤞🤞🤞

Before I post about todays ride, I'll put photos from our previous visit. We visited about two years ago. We first explored the village and the surrounding "ovens" then.

From our "wild" parking here, it's impressive to have any Internet to be able to post. Unfortunately, some images won't post. A few did 😊

Blimey. Last night was soooo warm. Roof light was open all night but we both threw off the duvets.

This morning we set of on an easy (checked beforehand and it was) bike ride. It was firstly a quiet road, good for driving, even woth a motorhome, that turned into a wide track. A bit of a dirty (plastic and other fly tipping) track that went through an area reminiscent of parts of Morocco, then put us back on the via verde. The solar panels we passed went directly into the grid.

We're now parked, an hours drive away, on a spot we liked two years? ago. Just below the Observatorio de Calar Alto, through which we hope to ride tomorrow. Photos tomorrow.

Hoping for a cooler night tonight. 🤞

And so, tonight. Parked high, but below the Observatorio de Calar Alto. (The phone signal is better here).

We filled, slowly, two watering cans, at the fuente below. We are now parked at the same place we chose a few years ago, when we were suffering with Covid!

Our water tank is now 50 percent full, the loo ...... will do us (me for pee, Martin can go al fresco) until we get down to the Cepsa garage near Seron.

Seron is another of our favourite spots, but we're aware that it may become abused.

I want to redo a ride from there that we did last year. It was lovely, and our Funster friends we met at the end could see we were buzzing 🤣🤣🤣

We all had a nice meal at the nearby bar. Hopefully we can revisit that part as well.

Photos are from the last visit.

Do they do charging points on the via verdes ? TIA

Charging points for what? At last night's parking there were four electric car charging points. None of which were being used.

We've descended to Seron. The wind was getting pretty strong at 2,000m with a forecast of 75km per hour during the night/early morning. We're at our usual spot on another via verde and parked next to the old station. There's not a breath of wind here atm 🙂.

We've got a ride to redo if the weather is suitable tomorrow, and a nice tapas bar within walking distance.

All is not lost 😂

We're still at Seron, tucked in next to the old station building.

It was sunny then. Then we had a rainbow. Now we have rain. And back to sun. It's like early April showers. The sky colour changes from dark grey to bright blue in a matter of minutes.

The small observatory at the side of the line.

We haven't yet decided what to do today. It's supposed to get wetter and windier before it get back to normal. We're secure here, so we may stay put.

Never seen any in Spain....other than our MH...
Interesting to read somewhere that Bosch provide many in other European location's for recreational use...🚲
Unfortunate but Spain is not on Bosch's list of providing chargers (yet)
Theres a load on the western border of Spain/France though

We manage our recharging in a way that enables riding most days, via the motorhome power supply...We still have a non-Bosch powered bike with the Shimano motor, but soon we will both be riding 750wh Bosch Smart system bikes...this will enable two rides per charge..

Well as we haven't ridden today we don't have to re-charge our bikes...but....we have decided to re-fuel two cyclists instead....
So off we trot to the town to get some well earned scoff....you can tell I'm married to a Yorkshire lass...
We chose well and ordered some home cooked delights..
