"A Year in Spain" My "last gasp" attempt at posting (informative info).

Thank you, all of you, who have read my travel thread.

I will continue with it.

We live in an area visited by motorhomers, mainly for their winter trips, so I'll pop on any info I think might be of interest.

Already, it appears a new motorhome area/campsite has opened on the coast at Puntas de Calnegre, very close to Taray Camperpark, so at some stage we'll be out for a recce.

Getting back to base brings work, our car and motorbike are hiding underneath a layer of thick dust....car sorted...bike later....hot water boiler didn't do what it's name suggests...so cold showers had to be taken....two hours later... I've sorted it....we now have hot water...
Haircut....hot shower...a chat with a Norwegian neighbour followed by my Liverpudlian vice President... I've retaken command now...everything looks in order...
The 130 days were brilliant....lots of places, lots of Kms on bike....of course bike service tomorrow also.. shouldn't be long before wheels are turning again...Of course I met Robbie and Adele also....this was an edit...as he was first to like my post....hope you are recovering my friend...

Collected it from our friends garage and put it in our storage slot. (y)
We know what you mean about the heat we have been trying to hug the coast but it's so busy and restricted although a good sea breeze no shade. :Eeek:
But then you have to keep moving. :crying::cooler:

Move after 24 hrs and no return for 7 days.
In other areas 48hrs . :RollEyes::doh: Bob.

Martin's new bike arrived today. I timed it just wrong. Arriving back from the hairdresser just as it was offloaded from the truck. I risked my newly recovered shoulder to help carry, drag, it to the lift and then, once on our floor, to get it to the apartment. It's now almost built, in the spare bedroom, with two other bikes (two are still in the motorhome).

It looks a good bit of kit 😂

My new bike will arrive sometime in the New Year 😉

First bike I've owned with ABS braking..
You cannot possibly have too many bikes...this is bike 5....bike 6 comes off production line in January for jumartoo
Got some long distance off road touring to do next year...

We've had a few, mundane, but busy days, cleaning. Martin, the vehicles, and me the apartment.

Now we're free(ish) to do what we like best. Getting out and about on the bikes, except that tomorrow I'll be "Billy no Mates" as Martin has a President meeting (the first Face to Face for months). I'm sure I'll cope. I might even do some foraging.

Tomorrow evening, and a change for us, we've been invited out for dinner by our favourite Dutch neighbours. Laudy doesn't drink so I think they'll even be ferrying us there and back. A luxury for Martin.

Then, we have to go to spend our €250 compensation from Jysk. Compensation for our late delivery of two sofas just before we left for our summer travels. That may be on the card for Monday.

Travelling in the van is so much simpler .... 👍😉🙂

Over lunch we watched James Martin in Murcia (we skipped a few episodes just to see what he found here).

The first thing he covered, we'd never heard of until earlier this year, when we were with Stef on the trip. Paparajote. Deep fried, dough covered lemon leaves, that are then coated with sugar and cinnamon.

The other things he covered we'd not heard of either and we've been fed many different meals over the years by our local friends.

It's rather strange that we've heard of, and eaten, more dishes from the rest of Spain, than the part we now call home.

En serio? Seriously?
Never heard that before. Is it an e-bike? Because it'll need volts to the electronic.
Amazing(y)
A disfrutarla!
Yes it's an eBike.... I'll send you a photo of the disc/caliper and unit....for aggressive eBike riding having good manual control on your brakes is essential...I can disable the ABS...

Martin had a Presidents' meeting this morning, so I went out on my bike alone. The first local ride since the end of May and during the summer some new route signs have been installed and, even more interesting for me, an information board about a small quarry/mine area that so far I'd not been able to find any information about. I was surprised to read that it only closed in 1974!
