A sucker for the moho

Anybody else calls a vacuum cleaner a 'Hoover'? I'm guilty of it, is it age related.

Robert

Dyson Animal, had it for years, motorised brush head and other attachments, works well for dog hairs. Only EHU charging tho!

'All the dirt all the grit hoover sucks up every bit, Hoover beats as it sweeps as it cleans'.

They are the words from the 1950's Hoover advert. The name Hoover has since become synonymous with Vacuum Cleaners, hence today near everyone calls a vacuum cleaner a Hoover. Although Hoover is/was a Manufacturer.

How do I know all this, well I am an ex appliance service technician, self employed and I knew many Hoover guy's including the ex king of Vacuum Cleaners , Dave Coombes, who worked for Hoover, and knows all about them and other cleaners as well.

I must confess I get annoyed when I hear the word Hoover, as I immediately picture the Hoover brand, and then it is said Oh its a Hoover Dyson, or a Hoover Miele, when the actual manufacture is Dyson or a Miele etc.

I suggest Shark is the best cordless cleaner at this present time. Others are close.

We have a rechargeable VAX Blade 2 Max to supplement a Henry around the house.

For portable use I have a Milwaukee M18 vacuum which is very good and is a no brainier as I already have the batteries and charger on hand for drills, tyre compressor, heated jacket, etc.

This is also what we have. Bought the optional hose, great for the dash etc. Small motorised brush excellent for fabric seats. Stick great for floors of course.

To me it makes no difference what make anyone has, as long as you're happy and it does the job for you.

Her Indoors wanted a actual make Hoover itself. I thought then as I think now it was cheap but done the job and she is happy.

I know I mentioned about Shark being the better cordless at this present time, but my preference goes to Miele corded. Okay I know it is bulky compared to the slimline light weight cordless makes around, and it makes much sense for a light weight one in a Motorhome or Caravan. But our old Miele corded has out lasted our previous cordless makes over many years.

I also have a Miele w/m at home.

I must be really a sad personxroll: talking about vacuum cleaners, after all each one beats as it sweeps as it cleans:xsurprised::xsurprised::ROFLMAO::xrofl::xrofl:

We use one of these takes up very little room and works

We have dust pan and brush simple innit
We have two small hairy dogs not so simple hence a dust pan and brush will be very little help. Simples.

We have one of these. It has a 5 metre lead and as we have a 12v socket in the bedroom we (she) can reach anywhere with it. It's a good sucker, lightweight and small.

The hoover we use is GTech hand held 24V charged with a msw inverter. Note the generic hoover lower case not the manufacturer Hoover.

We have a shark and it sucks

I have a broken thumb and that also sucks.

Neither eeer indoors or myself would be able to use a dustpan and brush for more than a few seconds then we’re require a roller hoist to lift us up again . It’s an age thing .
hence looking and reading post to sort what we might try.

a couple of days away and we’re need one. So for three or four weeks at a time for us it’s going to be a must have item

well despite vowing never to buy another Dyson, having had the Dyson Animal in the past for the house, Ive just ordered the Dyson V7 Animal Extra Cordless for the MH.
Was the only one that can be used as small hand held needed, came with all the attachments i need for the had to get hard to reach spots, dashboard e.t.c, and is almost 30v.
Hopefully this new version doesnt require constant taking apart to declog it every few weeks when it loses all suction, like my old Dyson did in the house!

We bought the vax blade one
it came with two batteries and has so far been tested at home and works better than I thought they would be.

We have the miele cat and dog for the house, had it over ten years mate fourteen just as good as hew. In the van we have lino on floor and leather seats so use brush and dustpan sometimes twice a day on sandy sites like arna. The big blitz with Henry when we return.

We're dust pan and brush people , too. But have a Border terrier that make for a good hoover! 🤣
