Nor last night but Friday. The prom at withernsea. Old fashioned sea side resort lots of pubs cafes and takeaways and a public toilet. Free parking there were eight vans when we got there and eighteen by the time Steph walked the dog in the morning. Sadly several looked mk Ike they were resident so may not be available for much longer!

Sadly forgot to take a picture but Saturday night the sellwood arms aldbrough. The road literally stops 30 metres past the pub where it has fallen into the sea. Large grass area or hard standing at the front. £20 deposit which is offset against your bar bill. A pint and a glass of wine £8 so we spent £32 on a free stop. They don't do food but the caravan park next door does takeaway pizzas burgers and kebabs on a Saturday night. Proper 1970s pub fixed booth seating threadbare patterned carpet but a decent selection of beers and lagers. Clifftop walks to see the extent of the erosion. Definitely worth a visit.

Soubise nr Rochefort, Charente Maritime
Tranquil Camping Car aire - on the riverside with superb bar and restaurant just near door.

Views back to the Transporter bridge - worth a ride over - pedestrians only thou.

Weather has cooled down to just 26deg now.

Just down the road from us and somewhere we may pop just for the day just to blow the cobwebs off and sit listening to the sea. We've noticed before, when packing up about 18:00, the number of vans that look like long-termers.

Tell me, what brought you up to the East Yorkshire Riviera? With your lyrical description of With (that's what we call it around these parts) and Aldborough, you don't moonlight for East Yorkshire Council tourism department, do you? 😄

Many years ago did a six month job in saltend. Stayed in withernsea and swmbo always wanted to see it so we did. With regard to the descriptions I try to be honest and informative in case anyone else fancies a visit.

We arranged a long overdue catchup with some friends who are looking into joining the campervan world. They are complete newbies to the scene so instead of a pub lunch we booked a night at Ferry Meadows, Nene Park and had them round for lunch. 1001 questions I had to answer but glad to be of help ☺️
