A few from our French trip which ended today.😢

The village of Vic sur Seille. A great Aire provided by the Municipality, flat clean gravel, EHU and WiFi for the princely sum of €5 + €0.60 for an additional person.

Coffee stop, “somewhere in France..”

Ancient castle, (1320) near Semois river. A steep climb but worth visiting.

View from the Citadel, Dinant, Belgium.

The way up to the Citadel from the town and, no, we didn’t! We chickened out and used the cable car instead.

Our last day in Scandinavia before catching the ferry from Rødby (Denmark) to Puttgarten (Germany) was spent around the enormous chalk cliffs on the Danish island of Møns.

Various wooden staircases (each one around 450 steps) from cliff level down to beach level.

Very crumbly cliffs, and lots of erosion, with trees that have tumbled down the cliffs now planted on the beach!

Interesting rather than beautiful, although a very atmospheric soft light.

I have enjoyed all your photos. Thank you. I wish we could go back to Scandinavia but I think it's a trip too far now, and also, they say you should never go back to somewhere you've been before.

Further to post #29663 above, I walked to top.

View with site on left, inlet to West Bay then on to Portland. (I have walked this before but such a good afternoon to do it again.)

Had a drive round the Solway Coast from Carlisle yesterday. Visited the former RNAS at Cardurnock/Anthorn.
Arial view from Google Earth shows the former runways.

A very clear day so I tried a 10x optical zoom shot on my phone of Skiddaw. I rested the phone on the top of a post to steady the image...

Google maps tells me it was 19 miles as the crow flies...

This is a former bunker from the Air Station days looking towards Silloth on the horizon.

We were rewarded with a nice sunset when we got home...

I think the aerial array at Anthorn (HMS Nuthatch !) was something to do with Very Long Wave radio transmisions to our submarine fleet ? It's apparently now the source of the old Rugby atomic clock signal ?
It can be a very bleak place in the winter mind.

(HMS Nuthatch)

I didn't realise the site had been going that long Graeme!

I'm always a little bit uncomfortable taking photos around there.
It looks like one of the bunkers on the shore side of the road may be being converted into a dwelling?

There is a new solar array on the roof, new blockwork and new fencing around it.

Probably on Grand Designs next year

Walked to West Bay, lovely afternoon on the Jurassic Coast. Apologies once again for posting again but this time in the sun. It was over 2 years ago.

Two years since the sun shone there!😱

Won’t bother visiting then, for at least another two years.😎
