We visited Dyffryn House and Gardens, near Cardiff, today. Too early yet for the flowers but we will go back in the Spring to compare the views.

An interesting old tree stump in the Arboretum.

The house itself is closed at the moment for remedial works.

This will be spectacular when in flower.

It’s a National Trust Property. The gardens cover an area of 55 acres so well worth a walk around.

We arrived at a quiet domain in a village near Palmerston North and decided to overnight. While we were there a farmer removed a flock of sheep from the paddock in front of us and then a man came along and started rolling the grass. He was followed by a man using a ride on mower. This sheep paddock is the ground for the annual cricket match next weekend between the farmers from the east side of the river and farmers from the west side of the river. The match has been held every year since 1930 with the exception of the war years and attracts a big crowd who are treated to free ice cream. The volunteer groundsman gets an Esky (chilly bin) full of homekill for his efforts.
Good as gold!

Doesn't look very level, wouldn't want to be bowling up hill!

Normally we'd be outside with a couple of glasses of Aperol. But it was very windy outside on the beach at San Juan De Los Terreros. So we retreated inside with a very un Spanish named wine.

The pub we go in on a Friday early evening is mad dog friendly. At times there could be 8/10 dogs in not a big room.
We always sit next to these 2 and now got very pally with the owners.
Proper nice doggies they are. The owners are a good craic also

Thankfully the world didn't end last night and we have a lovely sunny day in Roquetas de Mar. So far 38 days away. More than 30 spend on or near a beach. For free! No problem emptying or filling up. Or even finding somewhere to stay.

Thanks for that pic. How long has that mushroom been there. Don't remember it last time we were there.............a good few years ago.

Construction was started in 2005 and it was opened in 2011 Bob.

Just asked HRH (she has a better memory than me).
She reminded me it was spring ish 2012 we were last there. She remembers it cause we couldn't get the new car we had in the hotel garage as it was too big (the car not the garage:LOL:. The hotel was in a cobbled square with a big fancy church in the centre.
We will have a look on or around 12th March ish.

The entry price to the Mushroom gives you two entries within 24 hours, so can visit during the day and again at night for the sunset and it being lit up. (y)
