A photo of the day thread

Is it ever possible to get a scenic view without power cables in Spain?

A day out in the MH between the storms. Nice spot for lunch beside the Ewes Water just before it joins the River Esk at Langholm.

Bonny little town, Langholm, with some nice stone buildings...

Interesting stone pillar where some of the lions heads had spouts from their mouths as though they formed a drinking fountain?
An access hatch had been cut into the stone and a removeable(?) piece of stone put in.

This bandstand always looks as though it is ready to fall down!! but apparently designed that way.

Blessed with glorious sun and blue skies most of the day..

What a difference a day makes....
Beautiful sunny calm day yesterday in this part Northern England/Southern Scotland.

Started raining overnight and not stopped since...

Our lower fields now flooding as the culverts cant cope with the normally placid stream.

This and thousands of similar becks will be emptying into the River Caldew which will be full of debris from Dudley and Eunice and heading towards Carlisle.
Is it going to affect you Graeme jockaneezer ?

Looks like I'll be taking up fishing for a while

More gales and rain forecast overnight. Looks like I might have to put a coat on for our walk later.

Luckily Barry namwaldog , although we look across the Caldew valley two fields away from the back of our house, our village must be at least one hundred feet above the river (I must check it out on the OS map to see exactly what the height difference is) it will prevent dog walks along the river though and my son just turned up wanting a repair job done on his van, but I've chased him off as it's far too wet to be rolling around under vans today !
Edit: looks like your water's made it to Low Hesket Barry, my son's just sent me this pic. :(

Such a shame for the Pub owner.

We had a Brit Stop stop-over there last year on our way back from Scotland. A great welcome, nice Pub and good food. We will certainly use it again if it is still open next time we pass by.
