Fabulous cloud inversion on the drive out of the hills towards the west coast.

Chickie Benicassim beach 17°

This is our regular 'fix' until we get back there......

Well, we met up and what a lovely night we had. Denise is a proper lady and Joe is a big daft lad like me who likes beer and motorbikes.

We kept the lovely Denise plied with the HUGE G&Ts while we talked bollox like blokes do. With Denise providing some sense when needed.

She even turned a blind eye when us daft blokes were getting excited at all the pretty young things who came to stroke my little pal Elvis.

A great night and they loved the prices. A large Gordon's G&T and 2 pints, 5.50€

We were sat outside with just a little breeze, but not cold

:)
They're very quiet today. Hope I didn't get them too drunk 😅

Saw this really unusual naked tree except for a perfect ball of leaves. Any suggestions, please?

Just spent 4 days fettling after Storm Arwen.
It took a couple of slates off the 200 year old barn roof directly above the barn doors and when we went up to refix them we discovered that the iron nails had rotted on a lot more slates so we stripped them back to good fixings.

This showed that the battens and rafters weren't in best shape for about 8 sq metres so stripped and replaced them with new, along with roof felt.

Most of the Buttermere Green slates were in good condition and we also had a crate of the same type of reclaimed slates as spares.

What a beautiful church. Saltford would be even better if they ever build the A4 bypass!

We are in Caneshum ...
Regarding the bypass - they tried to get it years ago, but the route would have cut through the golf course - so with most of the parish councillors members, that one obviously didn’t get the green light!

They’ve tried to reroute it through the Avon Valley - and hopefully that will never happen.

The trouble with a bypass is that when it’s built they just fill the space in between the bypass and the A Road with houses, and with no extra infrastructure, so you end up with 10 times as much traffic on the A road as you had before!

Having said that we take our life in our hands every time we try to get out of our road onto the A4! Traffic lights would be my ideal - to help us get out with our lives intact and to slow the traffic down on the A4. Ah me - if I ruled the world………

A couple of photos I've taken today
