A christmas inverter thread

IMHO, microwave ovens are the devil's spawn as far as cooking implements go...
They heat for sure but are no way a good way to cook food properly or decently
Rather than work out how to power a microwave... why not work out how to cook what you want without one.
Your food will taste better and be more nutritious.
You'll save money too.

Only use ours for defrosting at home. In fact the only reason we bought it is for the grill and convection oven. Oh one exception is scrambled egg 😋👌

No but thanks for your input 😁

If its been working Ok not much point.
I prefer a pure sine as it means you can use it for anything without any problems.
I haven’t tried it yet on invertor yet as I was not sure if it was safe or not

We used an 800 watt microwave in our 2012 Elddis from new until we sold it in 2019. The only difference is the inverter was wired to the engine battery. Although the Elddis came with the smaller battery 2200cc we changed it for the 3000cc one. We found we could run the mic for 10 to 15 mins and still be able to start the engine. although not used every day it was used quite a bit. Sold it with the original battery we fitted in 2013.

now have. Bells and whistles lithium set un in our Burstner with a Victron 2kw multi pure sine wave inverter/charger. Frightening when you can see on the display just how many amps a mic pulls. But have 200 amps lithium and 700 watts of solar so should be ok.

I was under the impression that most run of the mill lead acid ' leisure batteries' are really just starter batteries, which are really designed to give short burst high amp output. If so then 50 amps out of each battery for a minute or two would be no worse than cranking a cold engine that was unwilling to start ?
