Hi everyone
We are currently parked at Shrewsbury after fitting in what seems like a week of things into 1 day.
The list includes

A meeting in Manchester
A site visit and measure in manchester
A pick up of wheel studs from a trailer company in Chester
A supermarket top up of silly things food wise which are sometimes difficult to find in continental Europe.
A filling at the dentist in Middlewich
A missed delivery of a new rim for a trailer
A conversation with rim supplier as the DHL app won't work
A conversation with farmer Jeff where I store some trailers, he's going to swap my tyre and fit the new rim (great relief)
2 pints of delicious Butty Bach beer In a local pub near to our sleepy spot
A well needed meal at Hickorys smokehouse
Waking up 2 hours ago thinking to myself I hope DHL find the farm/storage next time

Not too bad a start but it did seem as we deserved the beer and food last night, it should be a decent drive today to the camc site next to Folkestone.
We are looking forward to this trip as it seems we have been in the uk too long over this summer.
This was due to family time which is always nice and a bit of dental work that was overdue.
We decided to use the chunnel which does seem to have gotten quite pricy but when I gave Phil the options he insisted on tunnel even when I would have been happy with irish ferries.
Looking forward to a easy time in france with no set path just sticking to the east side as we are off to Dusseldorf salon to view electric bikes and other bits we need.
We may call into Luxembourg as its been over 5 years since we where last there and possibly the mosel region again, not sure we will see where the wind blows.

Mr porky. Gareth & Phil, great to see you both having a great journey together, with smashing photos of interesting food and places. Thanks both for sharing. 👍

Re the 3.5t weight restrictions encountered when approaching or planning for Aires, they are invariably commercial vehicle weight limits only, whereupon camping cars are exempt. ;)

That Chovi all i oli was bought in France? That's from down here 😀
Didn't know they sell it there👍
As well as Morrisons, it's also available in the larger Home Bargains here in the UK. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

We are heading to this location today

it's about 3 hours away but does give us an easy drive of 1.5 Hours into dusseldorf on friday.
I'm in two minds of which area to park up at dusseldorf.
Our tickets for the salon are not till Tuesday (camping from 7pm Monday evening).
We will be in the city all weekend though.
The options are the approved temporary aire in the suburbs or the just parking option right in the city.

Oops I seem to have included a picture of my mother in law who is currently in the isle of skye at the fairy pools. Sorry about that. Anyway she's a lovely lady 😁😁😁
I was going to ask why you two were sunning it in shorts, and yet she was dressed for winter.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Unfortunately or fortunately (I think it may have been very noisy) the parking next to the river is completely rammed. You couldn't get a panel van In there. So we are at the second option which is very pleasant but does require the use of trams or ubers.

Oh dear we have made a mistake in our dates for the food festival, it was last weekend. We have just paid for 3 nights as well. No matter I know we can eat and drink we'll here anyway.
Any suggestions for things to do.

How was that pulpo? 🐙
It was as good as I have had in Spain. Very happy with the restaurant, the waiter was from Malaga.
He did try to upsell a wine to us but I didn't recognise it. I'm glad we went with our gut instincts as I think he was just trying to get us to buy a wine the restaurant makes a better margin on. After checking online after the meal we were correct, I forgive him though as the food was very nice, except the bread which was very very average.

Glad we had our decision made for us yesterday with regards to our sleepy spot, had a undisturbed night and the tram is easy to access the city once you have sorted the app out.
Only €3.40 for one person one way on the tram or an uber is €18 one way.
We were very good and used the tram in and out.
Not sure what we are doing today, probably just mooching around the city and eating and drinking as we go.
Love a good graze 😁😁

Any German natives or informed persons. I love this German bread. Usally only buy a quarter as they are usally huge. This quarter piece cost €4.50. What's it called ?

Volkornbrot or roggenbrot depending what flour used I think. Spelling may not be right, I was tempted to put spelt!"

We decided to have an early mooch around the show.
We are very unimpressed by the e bike selection.
Here's some photos for you to enjoy.
It seems this year is all about the rufty tufty 4x4 go anywhere van in fact I think every motorhome builder has one in there stable.
Also some pictures of the morelo upgraded front facade stying (very nice).
Phil fell in love with fitting in a small washer, will have to ask premium motorhomes if this us possible.
