90 day rule.

Lol ive told you before you're a numpty

But i allow you one mistake....well 2 as you voted in that clown tae.

But you're otherwise ok 😉

Seems my previous post was deleted yet again

The censorship on here is starting to bug me as it does seem very one sided.

Might go join motorhome facts its less biased 😉
A lot of people on here would be sorry to see you go Tam. You are very popular (y)

Se when thay deport you for overstaying do that let you take your van as hand luggage
Just wondering

I'd worry even about cutting it close personally. What if I break down on the way back to the ferry/border? I wouldn't want to jeopordise my ability to travel across europe in the mh. I suppose if push came to shove, I could (probably) leave it in my husband's family's country, and fly to and fro like I used to. It would effectively be a two fingered gesture to the EU. "You don't want me? Well I won't be spending any money with you then!"

It would be interesting if any one on purpose or inadvertently out stayed the 90 day rule and did anything happen, iam thinking of staying longer in Spain.

Please report back.

Ian

I also made those two mistakes Tam. Whoops!
No regrets though.

Be careful what you post, this is an open Forum and anyone can read any of the posts anytime!
Northernraider you won’t get as much fun from them, very few people post on there and not a very big membership!

And he wouldn't be able to use his ' ignore' button over there.

If you stay in Europe you're technically an illegal immigrant.

We know a song about that, don't we boys and girls.

At least you admit they were mistakes 😉
Ha! Ha! You got me there Tam. Time will show if they were mistakes or not and if they do turn out to be mistakes, then so be it. I have no regrets and would always choose for my country to be in control of its own destiny, for better or worse.

Are we going to have this thread pulled next? Stop the in/out debate please for any country.

Is that why you have the Greek flag on your avatar?

We do 86/87 days max depending on crossing dates, Santander-Portsmouth or Plymouth just in case.

we were in Benidorm in Feb, spoke to a chap who had considered overstaying and telling them he had covid and couldn't travel............ until................ his mate had done the very same thing the week before and was fined €2000 and banned from entering Europe for a period ( can't remember accurately but 12 months seems to ring a bell )

Dont quote me, but I understand that there might be a bit of flexibility if it is only a few days and you can show some proof that it was unavoidable, due to illness or possibly a mechanical breakdown in the case of driving. But it is likely to be down to the official you are dealing with.

An American friend overstayed by nearly a year, initially becouse of nursing her french husband who had terminal cancer, then covid hit, and then it was about 5 months before she could even get a flight home. But she did keep immigration informed what was happening.

Ah, a courtesy flag then. Didn't realise it was a convention for motorhomes as well as boats :giggle:
Your location flag comes up automatically unless you have turned it off in your settings.

Romania isnt in shengen so the 90 days does not apply

But i did have a lot of questions asked when i entered it from Bulgaria and initially the border guard told me i couldn't enter without an invite or hotel reservation. So they are either misinformed or chancing it for bribes ... They detained me nearly 45 minutes
We got waved through in a couple of minutes with just our passports stamped, nothing about having to have a hotel reservation etc. they didn’t even want to see Honey’s passport or check inside the van. We’re in Austria now and the only place anyone has shown interest in what’s in the van is when we crossed from Greece into Bulgaria. And then he just looked through the door!

If you’re on a local Wi-Fi network it shows as the country you’re in. If you’re using your mobile data on a uk SIM card you’ll still have the Union flag on your avatar.
