Rally 60's Soul Survivors 2019

These days Neil, we've only got a USB turntable connected via a pc, and rarely spin discs. Despite having two boxes of very important significant platters, and also now having the disposable income, I can't bring myself to pay silly money for 45's. Perhaps if we won the lottery, it may cause us to have a different opinion.

Cant see me paying £7500 for this

Not worth £7500 in my view ;) Most of this guys 45s were either £3 or £5 which isn't bad. I bought a new record deck a few years back along with a new cassette deck. I've also got a true CD writer, not a PC one so I am working my through my vinyl and cassette collection and transferring them to CD and then PC.

hi, as complete newbies to attending rallies can someone post an itinerary of what happened at last years event so we know what we need to do/bring so as not to forget anything? do we bring our own alcohol for instance - is there a big buffet where everyone brings something etc. on each night ? I realise this years details wont be fully sorted yet but last years details will give us a clue as to what we need (along with dancing shoes of course lol) thanks

The rally is quite informal, insofar as there isn't an itinerary as such. At previous events, most people arrive Friday afternoon, however, we are unable to access the hall until the after school club finishes. Dynamix are allowed on to the stage to set their sound and lighting rig up.

Usually people will drift into the room around 7:30 with their own drinks and nibbles, and get acquainted etc. Tea and coffee will be available FOC in the kitchen, off the main room throughout the whole weekend (take your own mug). There will be soul music playing all evening, but on the Friday people tend to chat and catch up, there is a quiet lounge if anybody wishes. Those with stamina can boogie on till 11pm prompt when we have to end the music.

Saturday is free and easy, go to Newark on the bus, have a walk down the Trent footpath, go to the Muskham Ferry pub etc. Room is open all day for folks to chat, whatever. In the evening the music will start around the same time and we will all be up dancing. We all muck in to tidy the room up after 11pm, and put the tables and chairs away.

Sunday morning bacon butties will be available at £1 each, before the majority of Funsters depart. One or two people opt to stay over on the Sunday night, (additional £7.50) but we do not have access to the room.

Freshwater and Elsan disposal are available as are toilets within the building.
