4th October no tests return from non red ....

Totally confused now. Live in Scotland but leaving from and arriving back in England. Which rules apply? Going anyway but just want yo do the legal thing.

I'd say you're leaving and arriving in England therefore English rules apply - that's what I'd do anyway.

Nothing more said ( that I can find anyway) ref what the new codes are for , apart from matching your details . So being specifically matched to you by a code , Can they be used as a unique to you the post travel LFT ? Or can post travel LFT tests be done at an official , therefore supervised , test centre

The whole system seems deliberately designed to maintain confusion .

They have only scrapped the pre-departure test to come back into the UK you still need a Day 2 test which is PCR until an unspecified date in October when they switch to lateral flow.

Might be worth stocking up on cheap lateral flows tests before the prices are hiked on those...

From 4th October 2 day PCR test on return to England but booked and paid for 3 days before your flight. LFT are free through the Gov web site 7 in a pack and delivered usually within 2 days. 1 pack per person but not sure how often you can order a new pack.
We have been using about 2 per week - meeting with grandkids, going to a restaurant.

You can’t use the free NHS ones for the two day test back in the Uk, you have to put the test number on the passenger locator form before you travel back to the UK.

Yes there are free for use in the UK but not for travel unfortunately.

It has to be the PCR once you are back from the 4th October and then with a date tbc you can use a LFT but you are correct it has to be registered but things may change with 6 weeks to go.

You still need the two day test up until the next announcement due around the 22 Oct (half term) and it may change to the standard home swab test.

Is that right?

No you don't .You only need it if travelling into scotland directly by air or sea. From england doesn't count. You already arrived at the place whose rules you needed to comply with=england

How will they know that this test will need sequencing when in the main the general population is not sequenced. By October end this will all be dumped as long as there is not an explosion of cases.
Its becoming a farce. You go on holiday out of the UK one needs a LFT when you get back. You go on holiday in the UK in a large hotel no LFT. You go over to Ireland or NI do you need a LFT. You go to Scotland ?

We are one of the lucky few. Good lady is from Malta and I applied for Irish passport. Then having forked out 80 Euro for the passport , I was guided to the fact that whilst travelling with the wife her passport allows me to stay for over 90 days. So either way, now have freedom to stay longterm again
