44 bloody miles

I have not had a puncture on a bike in decades.
Just now 44 miles on a brand new bike rear tyre punctured.
Now got the flippin grief of sorting it.
Bloody bikes.

Wouldn't know. I would imagine yes it would be tubeless.

Most likely will have an inner tube, it will be tubeless ready, as the sealant will start to dry out in about 3/4 months and the bike could have been sat in a warehouse for that amount of time.

I did slightly better a few years ago.

Nail in the front tyre of a ZZR1400 with 79 miles on the clock.

Took it in to have repaired and they said sorry mate not allowed to repair on a bike like that. Has to be a new tyre…. Ouch

Passed a bloke on a bike with rear puncture a few weeks back on the way in to Barnstaple. He was still sat waiting when we returned 2,5hours later.

I have tried 3 local bike tyre places. All have stopped doing them, both repair and replace.
Still working out how to get the bike back.
Mrs Bob is out, she knows where the breakdown details are through the bank.
Great when there are going, PITA when one has issues.
Wanna buy a BMW.

I carry these in the bike and scooter. The pump on the right has also been used to top up the van tyres. Both fit under the seat.

I wouldn't use the repaired the tyre for anything other than either getting home or to a tyre depot.

Unfortunately at the mo i have nowhere to store anything. And who expects a puncture at 40 miles on the clock. My X-ADV has loads of storage.

I used to use that in my Trail bikes. Sometimes had finished an event without even knowing I had a puncture.
NB, not that sh!t that comes in a pressurised tin though, that's for when you have a puncture. The "slime" is a preventative measure.

But it also plugs the hole caused by thorns, nails & such. Used Slime to repair the back bicycle tyre once I removed the very large thorn in it and the tyres never gone down 4 years on!

I carefully followed the instructions when putting some in the tubes of my historic Matchless but it didn't stop a screw puncturing the rear tyre. (Why is it always the rear tyre? PITA on old bikes when part of the mudguard has to come off, plus the brake linkage and drive chain).

And yes, I did put it in through the valve and not by cutting the tube.
