Morning all,
I have a two camera rear view mirror setup, which is great for general driving, It automatically switches to second camera when reversing but in truth it’s not a lot of use as you can’t actually see the corners of the van , maybe needs a wider angle lens? ( the bike rack doesn’t help either) I’ve just seen these 360 degree systems and wondered if anyone has any experience with them?
many thanks bob

I had two extra cameras on my old van.
One by the grey waste outlet to improve my 'aim';
The other was a temporary one that I put out of the rear skylight to check the clearance under low bridges (we were 3.4m).

I have a 360° view on the car, but have only looked at it when reversing, but I tend to listen for the sensors rather than look at the screen.

A Good lot of input here and a lot of recommendations for the Camos 360 HD, but for me/my van i don’t think i can justify the price, has anyone any experience with less expensive kits that i see advertised in the £200 to £800 range?

Are these self fit kits?

I have a factory(Dethleffs,2017 )fitted Camos 360 and find it of limited use. The most important areas are at the corners and the birds eye view where images are blended is not clear, as cracked bumpers will testify. The side pictures are difficult to interpret and I only use it when manoevering, but now that the remote has died ,it is another nuisance. So I have fitted a seperate wireless reversing camera, which is much clearer. Perhaps newer cameras would give a better image.

This looks a similar system At a reasonable price.
Be careful if fitting it yourself as the calibration is crucial ,I paid to have it fitted and there are no visible cables ,they took a full day 8-6.30 so I thought it was a fair price 👍

Which system do you have?
Trailer vision Omni view ,I particularly like the setting that allows you to appear to be looking at your van from yards in front so on a motor way you see your van and the lanes either side to help you with any manoeuvring 👍

perhaps it has not been calibrated correctly? I find mine extremely accurate at all 4 corners. Pre having the system I bumped a corner every year. No bumps since, mine is trailervision omnivores which I believe is camos

I have heard that the 360 HD digital from Camos is a lot better than the earlier systems so it might depend on age.

I need to speak to them tomorrow, but yes, that is what I believe from the dummy online order I created earlier. £2,340 before discount.
I will post the outcome
Update. We ordered it this morning. Including installation, and the CAMC discount off, it came to £2,195 with the 10" monitor. Their website was incorrect and they are changing it. There must be a fair demand for the produ t as it is April before we can get it fitted.

another vote for Camos 360 with HD recording.
I have 3 miles of single track roads before motorway and system is great for when the driver of the small hatchback refuses to reverse.

I have a similar problem, not three miles, however, it is always me who has to reverse up, I've tried sitting there, tried getting out to explain, tried losing my temper, now find it easier to slip into reverse and take it on the chin, only a small van so considerably easier for me

Update of the update! The CAMC -10% is only applied to the product, not the installation.

Got to say the fitting was really good. Any wiring that I can see has been properly routed and sleeved. We did have an initial problem with the stop start interfering with the screen. But they sorted it through a specialist near us. Which saved us a 600 mile round trip.

I have the Dometic Perfect View 360 system and although I have experience of driving large vehicles (12t upwards) now that I have used it I wouldn't be without it. It eliminates the blind spots and makes parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces an absolute doddle. Regarding the 'Angles Morts' stickers - they still have to be fitted unfortunately as the rules specifically state that such equipment does not eliminate the need for them.

After having a hired car with this sort of system I thought it would be great for our 1st van. However we do not have unlimited funds so instead just having the Alpine 180 degree 4 view camera added to the Alpine media player as gives good visibilty of rear. May also get the front camera too at some point.

Been pondering this for over a month but finally ordered the Camos 360 system yesterday based on what has appeared on this thread. Thank you for sharing your views and experiences of it. Sadly the price has increased to £2295 with CAMC discount and fitting is now third week in June! On balance, I’d be concerned if there was a very short lead time!

I have the one by trailer-vision fitted 2 years ago with the 1tb harddrive (i think this is the camos) and personally i think it's a waste of money, the angles and viewing are just too stretched and its only visible in day time driving, night time driving is just too dark. I also wanted it specifically for viewing when the vehicle is parked up and it has been wired like that but again it's a waste of time as the camera's do not have any infra red so at night you cannot see anything from them not even with the outside light which is below one of them on.
If i had the choice again i would give it a miss, don't get me wrong the customer service from them has been good and they have offered to install some lights on either side (chargeable of course) but i already have a light on the habitation side and with that on you still cannot see anything.

Call CAMOS and book yourself in to get calibrated correctly. The guys who fitted yours are third party - go to the source and they will sort you out I am sure. Mine is great, day and night and I could not be without it

they are 1 of the same, amended as its trailervision but on on the end of their emails they are actuall camos and they did calibrate it, i have been in discussion with them but adding lights on the side will not help and for me that was the main reason for getting it fitted. I don't even use it now for driving as its just not good enough for me, its ok when parked up in the daytime which is useful but not for the price of the system and install

I want it for manoeuvring, not security or evidence capture. I assume it's good for that?

Not for me, the images are too stretched and driving at night is also no where near good enough for me, mine was specifically for security and evidence and driving was a bonus and this was also relayed at ordering. The customer service is good as they have tried to accommodate but i think i would just be wasting more money on additional lights when the lights i have don't add anything to make it work. They dont have any camera's with infa red which i think is needed for night time

I am a bit surprised at your comments as well, do you mean the images off the recorder are stretched/distorted? is so yes I will agree as they have not been through the processing unit that creates the 360 image. I would not say that ours is useless in the dark though and friends have the same system fitted and theirs was always on at night and visibility was good without any extra lights.
