140 bhp Fiat Automatic power

If I had hair I'd be pulling it out now!!! :roflmto:

Alko compared to Fiat perhaps?
Both on Al-Ko something to do with strengthing/modding the chassis for the auto box on the light chassis.
On the light chassis 180 with auto is 55 kg extra, on the heavy 15kg extra and the heavy chassis 40kg more. With the light chassis Carthago only supply with 16" wheels that's another 16kg.
If you have alloy wheels on both, heavy chassis only 2kg lighter.

You can sleep peacefully now.

That doesn't sound right as the 180 is normally around £1500 - £2000 (depending on converter) for a 180 over a 160. Are they perhaps including the auto box as that is normally around 3.5 to 4 grand on top.
The 9k even sounds expensive for a 180 with auto over a 140 manual.
No what they are saying if I continue with the order and go for the 180 it's not price guaranteed so I would have to pay the 180 cost plus the amount the Motorhome has gone up ,but as I see it I signed a contract and paid a deposit in February 2022 at the Nec show, for an agreed specifation it's not my fault if Fiat has discontinued the 260 engine, I don't think they have met their side of the contract, that's why I want legal advice if there's anyone on Motorhome Fun , one way or the other I shall pursue this.

The more I think about this I would be expecting Marquis to be taking this on. You have paid a deposit and signed a contract with them. If Fiat have moved the goal posts for the constructor then that is an issue to be dealt with between Marquis the Constructor and Fiat. This is a change over issue and should not be for the customer left to deal with. Marquis are not coming out of this very well so far in my view and may well be trying to make a quick buck out of it. I wonder how many others they are treating in the same way?
This definately needs the air of publicity if not resolved for you and any others inthe same boat.

At the very least I would have expected an offer of the 140 at a reduced price.
Certainly sounds like a stich up.

I'm not stitched yet, and , I don't intend to be , I hope it will end amicably, but, if need be I'll take the alternative probably but correct procedures first, I don't particularly want to be David against Goliath
