I bought a motorhome, 2008 Bessacarr E635 in July last year from Motorhome depot in Nottingham. I've have tonight found that tyres have date on them as 0712. Found out hard way after blow out on inner wall of tyre tonight travelling back from Lake district. It happened close to junction on M6 but because of road works I had to drive off at junction.
Motorhome ws going into garage next week to have tyres checked/replaced.

Yep that surprised me too. The garage wondering g why I changed mine last year with so much tread on them and looking ok

They were on a 2017 van. So were 6 years old. I always change my caravan tyres at 5 years and have that as a rule of thumb to me.

Tyres and condition probably comes from obsession in relation the motorbike tyres. Where they are even more critical
I just wish there were more wise people like you . I often wonder what costs more lives . Smart motorways, mobile phone usage ?. One wonders what gets more publicity.

Thanks Graham

I'm certainly not hiding behind my computer judging I can understand your disappointment that you got a puncture and the tyres are old. I bought my first van nearly 3 years ago and after a year or so I noticed some slight cracking around tyre wall so I changed them. It's not the previous owners fault it's just part of ownership of a second hand vehicle. Lots of things will break and need tinkering with whilst you have your MH....but 10 months after purchase for what is essentially a private sale...you need to move on!
I wasn't referring to you with regards to hiding behind your computer!

Still dropping clangers and making it up as I go along
Please tell us more.
There a thread somewhere I think

Condensed version

Fitter turned up
I let him get on with it
Knock at door
I can't fit them not got correct valves
OK no problem come back when you have them
Can't get them
I'll leave you the tyres.
No thanks as they are not a lot of good if not on van
Off he goes. Not saying a word
Something told me to check the van
He'd snapped a valve off
So rang CS
Ih dear we can't get valves
What about van I can't move it
To and fro
They can't find a tyre supplier
I suggest 2
OK take van there . No its not safe to drive
We will pick it up
Eventually AA turned up
Took it to where I should have taken it
Said to guy when will you bring it back
It won't be me but they will sort it
AA don't bring back fixed vehicles
Tyre place kept it inside until I could collect it

CELTIC TYRES BRIDGEND now PROTYRE

I cannot recommend these guys enough, they are brilliant

What really peed me off that the young man had not told me about the damage he caused.

ats halfords aa all under one company
