12v Av tex telly

I’d say that you have an electrical problem there as I’ve never heard of the power socket works via the lights circuit.

Wonder if someone has wired it that way and possibly didn’t know enough to sort a proper job 🤷🏼‍♂️
Looks a bit like it to me. Being not very electrically minded (more at home with a sledge hammer) do you think it will be ok to leave it like that or should I try to fix the problem.

Now you know what it is, it's not a problem electrically, it's more the inconvenience. And whether the lights have to be on when the TV is on, or can you turn them off individually.

It really depends on whether there is an actual electrical problem causing the socket to only work in line with the lights circuit, or it’s been done that way on purpose.

It could actually be a short in the control panel, so if it were me, I’d want to know, as any risk to damaging the wiring in the van and how hidden the circuits, is best avoided.

Pain I know, but worth chatting to the dealers you picked it up from.

Are you sure it's not the main switch? Because that will also switch the lights on.

As soon as I turn this switch on I get power to that socket.
