12v and 180watts to heat water.....waste of time and energy.
Ever wondered why household immersion heaters are usually 3000 watts

Yeah because household heaters have to heat 50 gallon in an hour or so, these 12 volt ones would have all day to heat 20 liters.

Plus the fact it's all free electric so what's it matter how long it takes

Pretty simple why 12v and 180 watts is not a waste of time and energy as your heating 6 Ltrs of water, not 160 Ltrs as your doing with the 240v the usual 3000 watts, and why is it a waste if the excess solar was not being used before?
