Tuesday 12th September 2023
Moving day today, we left Avignon around 8.45am and instantly hit traffic queues trying to get out of the town. Only delayed by about 20 minutes then open roads and mountain ranges in the distance. Stopped at a supermarket and petrol station and filled up on food and fuel. Stopped for a coffee break in a lay-by then headed for a small camp site we’d seen on Search for Sites at a place called Correns. Drove a mile down a narrow road to find the gate shut and a sign saying to phone at 2pm. Had a wander round and decided it was a little too basic and rural for us (me!) Del found another site about an hours drive along towards Nice. It’s in a place called Le Muy and the site is a big commercial one called RCN Domaine de la Noguière. Got booked in and chose our pitch and had a very late lunch at 3pm!
Later around 6pm we had a wander round and took in the swimming pool and had a beer in the bar. Had our showers then cooked tea and braved the mozzies and sat outside to eat. It’s dark just after 8.30 in the evening so once we’d washed up we came inside and battened down the hatches!
Wednesday 13th September 2023
Del collected the bread and croissants and we had them outside with a nice fresh coffee! It’s our lazy day today, we spent the morning sitting under the awning doing very little! We spent some time researching campsites and places to visit on our return journey up through France after we leave Nice.
Later in the afternoon we ventured to the swimming pool. Found some loungers in the shade and had a dip in the pool.
Came back around 5pm and showered before getting tea. Del packed the chairs, table and mat away ready for our departure tomorrow. Watched a catch up video of the Vuelta on You Tube.
Heading to Camping Parc des Maurettes outside Nice, where we will meet up with our kids to see the Wales and England rugby World Cup games over the weekend .
