Hi there does any one know if its really nessasary to have 2 warning signs for spain ? I will be travelling through France Spain and Portugal. I dont think its compulsary in France but is in Spain. I have a Peugeot Boxer with right off set bike rack on the back door which i will have 2 bikes on. The bikes spead across the whole width of the back of the van door. I read some where that it was necessary to have 2 warning signes , one at either end of the bike? Seems like over kill? When ever I have seen photos of them people seem to just have one in the middle? Also is it really necessary that they are aluminium?

France >1 m protrusion 30 × 30 cm reflective sign + red light

Spain 50cm.protrusion, 50 × 50 cm red/white panel required

Portugal >45 cm protrusion 50 × 50 cm red/white reflective sign

Plastic or metal is ok

Metal for Italy I think, thats why we got a metal one,

The plastic ones fade and become brittle after just a few years if left in sunlight permanently. The metals ones, although more expensive, last forever and don't fade.

Thanks for the info. So does that mean I only need one sign to go in the middle and not two signs one at either end?

One sign only for you.
Pernickety bits about lines, but just get the direction correct.
For driving in the gutter 😂 PXL_20250411_132020445.webp

I think it's supposed to be metal in Spain.
As said get the direction right loads of people drive with them the wrong way round in the UK.
The red lines should point downwards towards the offside lane.

I bought two thinking i needed two. If your looking to buy one, I can sell you one for £30, (half price). It's a metal one and it's still in it's plastic wrapping.
