LV looks like motorhome insurance is finished

Who were the underwriters out of interest?

I always found the whole set up very odd as you had to dig to find the correct starting page then there was never any mention of goods coverage. Was always cheap.

They stopped motorbikes two years ago too, only like making easy money ……

Well I found them excellent. Two cars and a motorhome for less than £600 and I’ve never seen a bad word said about them to date

Us too. In fact this year's renewal was £120 less than last year. Result.

Just had our renewal, Campervan plus two other vehicles, and £150 less than last year.
Always find them very easy to deal with👍

LV were very good with us when our first van was written off and we stayed with them (through a broker, in Otley I think) for a few years. Then the renewal came through with a condition that it could only be renewed by someone who had car insurance already so we had to go elsewhere.

I was with LV for my motorhome however had a claim for rodent damage, my insurance on renewal increased by £200 despite no claims protection. Three weeks after renewal they wanted a further £500! No thanks, so cancelled, still lost £200 for short time I had been insured by them!

Will all the Funsters, on searching for 'New' Insurance, have to declare
that their exstant Insurer, in this case LV, refused to offer a renewal.

I appreciate that it is not their fault, but, it will be interesting to hear their experience.

Are they not withdrawing from a market rather than refusing the individual? Had no issues when they dropped motorcycle insurance, but I’ve still not forgiven them!

It’s not a problem because they have withdrawn a product rather than declined to insure the person (IMHO)

I think the question you’re asked is ‘Have YOU ever been refused insurance.’

That’s different to being asked whether an insurance company has ever refused to insure a vehicle you own.

I’m not even sure it’s a refusal to insure anyway. It’s just a case of they won’t quote for the business.

It’s not something I’ll be worrying about if they withdraw from the motorhome market.

The correct definition is, I think, "declined to offer renewal" not "refused" which should not cause a problem.

At 'their' end, (LV) they are withdrawing from the market but, a 'New' Insurance provider, could say,
and why wouldn't they, that in the face of a claim, the claimant had had a renewal 'refused'.

I wouldn't give the new Insurance provider with that opportunity.

Why wouldn't any company do that! They're a buisness not a charity

I don't recall us having any problems.
Presumably other companies will be aware of one of their competitors deciding to no longer offer motorhome insurance and not invent a barrier as a result.

Just had my notification (via email) from LV re: no more motorhome insurance...had two motorbikes with them, and now the van. Still got a car with them, but seemed expensive last year, will 'gocompare' when renewal comes round.

Just had a letter telling us that they will not renew our insurance when it becomes due in August due to underwriting changes ☹️
I’ve just had my renewal from LV= and it’s £50 cheaper this year so they are still insuring existing customers👍😊

Just a thought but I am insured directly with LV= have those that have been told they are not being insured with LV using a broker? My renewal came directly from LV=🤔😊

Out of interest do you have a motorhome only policy or a multicar ??

Mine not due for a while and i was already aware they havn't covered a single motorhome policy for some time.
Want to be prepared in case they are also finishing with multicar / motorhome.

OP said they wouldn't renew his in August due to change of underwriters, perhaps yours has been renew under the current underwriters which haven't changed yet.
