Hi,
My leisure battery is not charging whilst driving. In a 1999 Hymer. Any idea why? PLus there seems to be a drain on it when sitting and nothing is on.

Split charge relay - if it doesn't do anything then no charge diverted to leisure (usually).

Also check the 30a automotive relay.
No idea where it will be but often near the hab battery.

Have you measured a drain while resting - or does it just seem to go down more quickly than you expect?

Only just got the van, on the second night the leisure battery was so flat I couldn't charge it and when I had it tested at a garage they said it was history.

Probably inside the Elektroblock.
Have you checked the fuse by the starter battery that feeds the Electroblock., probably a 50 amp maxi fuse.
oh dear...where is the electroblock, in fact what IS an electroblock!?

Big blue box with loads of fuses on the front does the 12v distribution and has a mains charger built in.
Either in the double floor or under one of the cab seats

ok found it didn't realise that is what it was called. How do I know if it is history. Apparently these are destroyed quite easily with surges or generators!

Generally similar to this., Check under the front seats, that's a favourite hiding place.Work backwards from there under bench seats and in the base of cupboards.

If the only fault is not charging the leisure battery while driving it's fixable, generally EBL's are fairly reliable.
Did you check the fuse I mentioned?

No but it won't charge when driving.

I would fit a new leisure battery then go from there.
What type of battery does I have, wet lead acid or Gel? Hymer normally fit Gel.

With your very limited/non-existent knowledge you really need an auto/motorhome electrician to sort it.
Yes limited! Although I have had a variety of campers for 50 years! I've also had many Hymers and what I saw on this control panel, I've never seen before.
