Hello All
Apologies , I know there are previous posts on here regarding re mapping , however I am looking for recommendations from anyone who has had their Ducato re mapped recently . Mine is a 160bhp 2021 with an auto box. Any recommendations welcomed please .
Thank you .

Why? Its quite a well refined engine and the auto torque is better than the manual.
Has the van ever had an ECU update from Fiat? Our MY20 160ps was low on torque and I was going to complain until after its 1st service where the ECU was updated and the torque improved massively low down. Certainly no thoughts in needing a remap?

Ahh no I don’t believe it has had an ECU update . I will make some enquiries. Thank you .

If you have multiECU scan you can check ECU version number.

I'm not 100% sure on mine, but before its service I knew/felt the power didn't match the documented torque graphs and low down grunt <1800-2000 was naff - whereas it should have full lazy torque from 1200.

After 1st service it was fixed and now it has the torque low down.

I put it down to ECU update, but at the same time (a) it clocked 6000m (10k); (b) had its 1st service; and (c) the ECU update also rebooted its known params.

So quite a few things happened at the same time and any could've kicked it lol - eg ECU may be in "run in mode" below 10000km and/or before first service... So can't say for sure.

If you read some other issues on older vans with EGR/DPF etc - many of these caused by issues due to ECU not being up to date - so "cheap local garage" services who can't update ECU are false economy (IMO). So I go to a fiat pro motorhome dealer who has the software/systems to check and update ECUs (and I've checked before/after to ensure its done!).

IMO the engines nowadays are refined, tuned and sensitive - I'd not want a 3rd party map as they are sorted for longeivity. I know my engine is down on torque/power at low RPM (compared to auto) but this is deliberate for long life of the gearbox/clutch (hence the auto has a different map from factory). My choice - long life gearbox & clutch please! (our current and old car had the same for the same reason). Would not want to shorten the life for a few extra traffic light GPs! And IMO fueling is sensitive for EGR/DPF nowadays too - hence the issues with the older vans (dual EGR) and not having the fiat update. Fancy risking that? Good luck!

So yes, for sure a remap would give me more torque and power and more MPG - but at what cost?

YMMV of course and some would argue worth it. Me, conservative and keep the fiat tune updated.

I would consider Ad-blue removal if/when I get issues though! But not for performance gains. (be grateful you don't have 100/120ps versions...!)
