Help Funsters. Had a biff on N/S wing mirror 2016 ducato long arm i have been told. Actually it is only the 2 part cover that was damaged, well i assume it's in 2 halves. Actually only half of the cover. Either way i would rather change covers on the work bench than in situ unless someone knows how to change them so how do i get unit off ?????

Fiat only supply the complete unit (£650-700). Apparently they don't supply just the plastic cover. How stupid is that? Plenty of pattern parts available though.

Easier to just change the covers but get spare glass as well as you may well crack it prising it out of the housing to access the screws holding the cover on.

I replaced the covers the other year on the offside. I did remove the whole unit but wouldn't recommend it if not needed. Removing the whole mirror involves getting to the bolts inside the van, disconnecting cables from inside the doors.

I would recommend unscrewing, prising the horizontal arm sections off. Then removing the two parts of the cover which is several screws. This way you aren't having to drag the cables back and forth.

I got pattern parts from somewhere which was cheaper than OE parts, they are not perfect but you only notice the slight misalignment if you know about it!

Magnum Vehicle Solutions were very helpful to us in sourcing new mirror glass, they can also obtain other wing mirror parts should you need it. https://magnumvs.co.uk/

Some photos for anyone interested! I decided to remove it completely and clean up and spray the arms which were looking a bit ropey!

I don't have any finished photos as I usually just take them so I know where everything came from!!
