Looks to me like he was lucky. That could have been much worse.
Did you tell him. you know a good paint sprayerThe front tells a different story, it’s up over some big rocks, it’s going to cause a lot of damage if they just pull it out…![]()

....and forgot to leave it in gear.
I’m used to that sort of reactions. If that was me messing up like that, taking a picture of me and my van would be risky too![]()
Been there, done similar with a fully fuelled BMW GS1200 Adventure. You then find out how heavy they are.Leant the bike over and.... the side stand wasn't fully out so the bike went uncerimoniously over. I went over with it and ended up on the wood pile.

Probably, it only had a 33l tank and metal top box at the time.Lighter than a fully fuelled up R1150GS with the 40Lit Touratech tank and the shopping in the panniers I would guess....

If it ran down the road and hit another vehicle it could be way more expensive. I wonder if he's used to driving a car with an automatic hand brake both ours have now using a handbrake would not be a habit anymoreThe front tells a different story, it’s up over some big rocks, it’s going to cause a lot of damage if they just pull it out…![]()
I did something similar on a K100RT outside Rockys fried chicken on the Bath Road at Heathrow where there was an audience, the side stand went down a pothole and over we went, all the blokes in the queue were laughing but didn't come over to help, presumably because they didn’t want to loose their place, but a very nice Indian lady helped me pick it up, bless her.Been there. In a hurry....filled up a BMW K1100T while sat on it. Finished filling, kicked the side stand down and in the same cool movement quickly leapt off the bike to pay. I didn't notice the gutter that the stand sat in. 3 steps away, I heard the crunch of panniers.

Sorry to laugh, but there, but for the grace of God have so many of us been. I've lost count of the zero mph tumbles i've taken, yesterday my bike had one when I was trying to get it on the paddock stand by myself, luckily it fell onto the grass next to the hard standing pitch I was on and no damage was done.I travelled exactly eight inches. The disc lock bit into my calliper, and I violently dropped it.

No john did it on his VFR first time he came to see me I lived on a hill, one way street and he hadn't quite got the angle right for it to stay upright.Only BMW riders?![]()
