I didn't realise mobile phone cameras were that clever.

Just sitting here enjoying the peaceful site at Rocamadour and taking a photo. Never used the 'erase image' thingy before. Here's us in a deserted site.

Here's us before I removed our neighbours. Still not that busy.

Here's a beautiful village a short scooter ride from where we are. With the aerial and satellite dishes removed.

How times have changed. Forty years ago I was working with Rolleiflex, Bronica and Hasselblad medium format cameras. Which were not light, or pocket friendly.

And, you couldn't make a phone call with them:giggle:

AI is getting cleverer. :) I tried today a new Beta version of Photoshop which can generate images from a description entered as text. This isn't new but it's the first time I've tried it.

I entered "motorhome on a beach by the sea". You can select the output to be a photograph or as "artwork". The result is shown below.

Oh how I loved taking and showing photographs to the 'bride's mother':oops2:

I used to use a Mamiya 645, then moved to various SLR's and then only took that on "big" holidays.
Now I just use my phone, they're nowhere near the qualty of medium format for large prints but so much easier to carry and use.

They have got so much better over the years, problem is I would hesitate to call it "photography" anymore.

Gone are the days of hyperfocal focus and reciprocity factor. Plus a light meter in the back pocket. Even normal focusing is the right way up.

Developer, Stop bath, fixer, negatives, transparencies E6, C41, FP4 HP5 kodachrome ektachrome fujichrome, pushing, pulling, dodging, burning, reciprocity failure.
All gone the way of the dodo.
Ignore typeface, Fiddlesticksing internet 😁

…and wasn’t it fun doing all that! I miss my Patterson enlarger (eventually got a Durst), and the ‘thrill’ of seeing the image develop before your eyes……. (y) (y)

Yeah, it was fun.
Took ages sometimes though, especially when you got a colour cast from changing exposure.
Black and white was a bit quicker, that Ansel Adams was on to something 🤔

It was far harder to develop photography technique and experiment when the feedback wasn't instant and it was so bloody expensive.

Also, so.much easier to switch from colour to B+W on a phone camera.
Took this originally in colour recently (tunnel view yosemite) and then switched it to B+W.
Which do you prefer?

P.s not exactly identical shots

Umm sorry to burst your bubble but that photo with the neighbours removed has made a hash of it if you look at it properly rather than glancing.

Noted. I think it was pretty good for a first ever attempt. With a fingertip once almost cut in half;)

I've got a galaxy s24 ultra is that in the camera or gallery? Often think,I'd like to clip something out.

If you click on the photo, edit comes up. There are 4 small circles in a square. Click on those. Then erase object comes up. Click that. Then use your finger to circle the object you want removing. The phone will then clean up the line around the object. Click on erase or done then save. (y)

They're never perfect if you look close enough.
