Pole and Clamp awning channel.
Hi all we have a drive away awning that we want to accommodate in our new build van.
We want to use pole and clamp rather than figure 8 as we think its easier to use.
I know there is a aluminium section you can buy and fix to your van to accommodate this but cant seem to find it on the web.
Does anyone know what its called and where i can buy it.

From what I've read the pole and clamp awning attachment is designed to fit in the 'existing' gutter on the vehicle.

So they want to buy the awning rail to fix to their van I thought.

We had a caravan some years ago, the awning had 2 beads.
1 fitted in the channel, the other was inside. A clamp fitted to this and then the support pole clipped to the clamp. Saved drilling the side of the van.

I have used the pole and clamp method (and also figure of 8 awning connection) on a T3 VW Autohomes Kamper I had a number of years ago. The aluminium section you are referring to is called "J rail", a quick google bought up this and this one but you may find it available at larger camping and caravanning shops nearer to you

Cheers
