enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
Had a head scratcher earlier, plugged into EHU but no light on the panel, yet 240v sockets all worked. Checked the leisure battery and it wasn't charging either ....

Checked a few fuses, scratched head a few times, then checked the lead under the N237 control box (Adria motorhome), the bloody plug had worked loose, probably from me running wires adjacent to it (user error!), now light is showing on panel and battery charging from EHU...

If anyone has a similar problem and does a search, hopefully they will read this before starting to consider 'expensive' solutions !

Buy a mains tester socket for a fiver plug it in and not worry about it!

All 240v sockets worked, not sure what a plug in tester would have shown me? It was the plug to feed the charging unit that had slipped loose as I thought I had explained...

I meant as everything is working, it doesn't matter that the little light isn't showing you your hooked up

If your concerned then the cheapest was is a mains tester left in a socket as an aide memoir

A lot of systems rely on the battery charger output to operate the 'mains on' light.

And that seems to be the case on ours. I suppose it acts as visual reminder that although everything appears to be 'working', there isn't something quite right ....

It matters a lot. No mains icon on the panel means no 240v feed to the Nordelectronica unit which means no charging to vehicle or leisure battery. The mains sockets still work if the kettle type plug comes out of the Nordelectronica unit. It's a common problem with these units.
